Dr.Fricka always answers my questions and is very thorough in his evaluation, exam and explanations. He has been my Orthopedic doctor for 15 years having first revised my left hip, then replaced my left knee and recently did a revision of my right hip. I’m now 78 and I am fully ambulatory without any aids. Dr. Fricka and Anderson clinic are unquestionably one of the best Orthopedic practices on the East Coast. 5*

Dr Fricka was very knowledgeable about the condition of my knees. To rule out my hip being a problem Dr Fricka order a pelvic X-ray. It was fine. He could not determine where the pain on the side of my leg and back was coming from. He thought it might be my back. I would like to send Dr Fricka a readout from the MRI of my.back. How would I do that?

Dr. Fricka is my hero! In my teens through my 20's & part of my 30's I was an avid runner. In HS I won many races. Then as an adult I still ran until my family of two children & husband & my profession took all my time. I walked quite a bit but instead of being very skinny on up until my mid40's ....then the weight started picking up until in my 50's . I tried every diet on the planet & the yo-yo effect hit hard. I was depressed, left a physical abusive husband. Met my second husband & we both started dieting & exercising with him losing substantially more weight than me. I was depressed & started the yo yo if selfloathing & eating more. Gained a little weight but still slim. I always as a runner and adult had knee problems. But, the weight certainly started contributing to my downhill battle with pain & becoming more sedentary. Life was good & my 2'd husband thought a little more weight made me curvier & prettier. Then later early menopause hit along with my workload was drastically increased. I worked as a Land Use Plamner for both Fairfax & Prince William Counties in both of their respective building booms. Spent less time swimming, my favorite exercise & eating on the go by getting the secretaries to run to their favorite fast food for lunch & often skipping breakfast & dinner with all the overtime. The weight gain was gradual but when menopause hit I suddenly started gaining a tremendous amount of weight. I was on all the fad diets and would lose 10 lbs & then gain 20. This trend kept going until O truly hated myself. My daily walks were rare. I kept climbing on weight no matter what I did by skipping meals. My second husband loved sweets. Pies, cakes, ice cream etc. He even started gaining weight but not at the pace & increase that I did. I hated myself despite how well O was performing at work and receiving more promotions. I would stop by fast food on my way home & eat it on my way home because my children & husband were already in bed. It was my routine to go without breakfast & lunch & gorge at night rewarding my hard day with sweets. I always had sensitive knees . Now both knees were so painful not only did I give up on running Inalso gave up walking & swimming. There weren't enough hours on the day to do everything. Then when my daughters went off to college Instarted emotional eating late at night, stopped any form f exercise and was working on my new job as Dir of OCJS Domestic Violence Programs for both Fairfax &!Promce William Counties. My knees hurt so badly at the end of the day I had to ice them down every evening. The more weight I gained as a result the worse my knees became. I had inherited my mother 's bad knees & felt destined to not be able to even do walks without intense pain. I had minor surgery once by local Dr which helped initially but I could not keep off the weight gain nor did I had any time to walk much less run again for exercise. I started skipping meals & ordr innoizza & fast food while working so much overtime. I was miserable because the weight gain after menopause was huge. I developed asthma the pulmonary Dr said that my weight gain contributed to crowding my diaphragm. I just gave up trying all the newest diets and exercising. After my husband passed away ...I started eating sweets at night instead of drinking alcohol. Drinking was not an option for me. My skinny self became my fat self & I started hating and despising myself. Then a friend of mine who was in AA with me said my knees could be the problem why I gave up walking & bicycling. My husband used Anderson Orthopedic for his shoulder & he had highly recommended it for my knees before he died suddenly. I knew Ovwas emotionally eating & tried diet after diet to no avail. Two close friends recommended Anderson Orthopedics & specifically Dr Fricka who replaced their knees & it changed their entire lives for the better. Do, Inboth went on a diet and saw Dr Fricka. He has now within a two year time frame replaced both fy knees & I have started losing weight...25 lbs. I need to lose a lot more to get to my goal weight. But with my metabolism diet alone won't do it. Now, thanks to DrvFricka and having both knees replaced I am walking again on a daily basis. Building up my distance and speed. Thank you DrbFricka for giving me renewed hope & the ability to walk distances at a faster speed. I'm 76 years young and do hope to run again and to continue losing this weight. I owe my life to Anderson Clinic & specifically to Dr Fricka for his encouragement and his dedication with his highly defined skills ...I have hope and faith that my new journey will enable me to compete with my grandchildren who all are avid runners on college and HS. I say a prayer for Dr Fricka every night. Thank you for renewing my life....even at 76 years young.
