Post a memo when there’s changes with policy or the change in daily routine for the staffFor safety reasons, I don’t agree admitting a patient with a foley cath, oxygen , use of cane, walker if there’s no adequate staffs available to monitor these patients.Retraining of MHT on how to do proper VS, reporting to nurse if reading is low or high right after taking those VS for prompt attention & intervention.

On units 2B and 3B, the current staffing model of one nurse managing 18 patients is not sustainable given the high acuity levels. To ensure safe and effective patient care, each unit requires a minimum of two nurses and two technicians working together. The current staffing levels have led to significant staff burnout and a decline in the quality of patient care. Patients on these units require more individualized attention than one nurse can reasonably provide in a single shift. Responsibilities such as addressing patient needs, completing daily progress notes, managing the milieu, covering the desk and phone, administering medications, handling admissions and discharges, and coordinating with physicians and social workers cannot all be performed safely and effectively by one nurse. This staffing concern must be addressed to protect both patient safety and staff well-being. The ongoing strain is contributing to burnout, deteriorating mental health, and increased frustration among both nurses and technicians.
