I initially came in looking for a specific car. It wasn't on the lot but I was told one was on the way and a $500 deposit would put a hold on it for me. I paid the deposit but when I went to pick up the car, it was not what I wanted. The team was able to find what I had originally requested through a dealer swap - that added an additional week and a half to our buying experience and an additional $750 to my out the door price for shipping.The day I put the deposit down, the sales manager showed us the estimated cost of the car and included a $7,500 trade in value for my pickup without even looking at it.While we were preparing to purchase our new vehicle I uploaded all the pertinent information for Kelly Blue Book Instant Cash Offer that I linked to from your website. The offer I received there was $9,990. When we were going through the paperwork, I informed the salesman if the KBB offer. He went into a backroom and talked to someone and came back with an insulting $13 increase in the trade in offer and was told I could make it quick and accept or I could try a private sale and I might get a little more for my truck with 100,000 miles (KBB actually recognized the mileage as low for an 11 year old vehicle and added value to their offer for that). I told the sales rep I understand if the actual trade in was lower but there's no way they can be that far apart. Then he gave me an explanation that it would take $6,000 to repurpose the vehicle for sale and he couldn't budge further. Ihave a hard time believing you would spend that much getting any used vehicle ready to sell since it negates any profit you might make. After he stood firm in his trade in value I asked if there was anything he could do in terms of service or if there were any other ways to add value and after another little bit in the back, he came back with a coupon for an oil change.The finance guy was great. I've taken my wife's car to your service department for years and they've always been great. Ultimately, I like the car and I might get another Honda down the road but it will probably be from a different sales team.
