David was great to work with. He listened to our concerns and worked with us to make the purchase happen. He was very patient as we considered the pros and cons of making a purchase. Everyone we worked with was very understanding and helped make our experience a good one.

Good afternoon,I originally was very excited about purchasing my new Toyota RAV4 XLE Premium AWD. I had been waiting for the vehicle for approximately a month, and I was genuinely looking forward to finally completing the purchase.Prior to coming to the dealership, I had already been working with Goldenwest Credit Union in Springville, Utah, and had been pre-finance approved for the purchase through them. My understanding was that once I arrived at the dealership and the necessary documents were prepared, either the dealership would provide the information directly to the Goldenwest representative via email I had been working with, or I would take the documents to the nearest Goldenwest branch so they could finish processing the loan and provide me with the appropriate check to bring back to the dealership.Unfortunately, once the financing portion of the transaction began with the finance department at Larry H. Miller Toyota, my experience changed considerably. What should have been an exciting day became uncomfortable, frustrating, and ultimately very disappointing. The finance representative told me that the dealership had a policy preventing me from using a check from my credit union. The explanation I was given involved concerns about fraudulent activity and "bad actors." This was particularly confusing and concerning to me because both my wife and I had already gone through the dealership's verification and security process. We were even asked to undergo a process intended to determine whether we were associated with terrorism, bad actors, or whether the purchase was somehow being financed by such a group.I had clearly explained that my financing was through Goldenwest Credit Union, a legitimate financial institution that the dealership was already familiar with and, as I understood it, already had a relationship with. Despite that, I was still told that I could not use the check from my credit union because of a Toyota/dealership policy. There was also conflicting information regarding the dealership's payment policies. The day before I picked up the vehicle, I received a text message from the dealership stating that if my down payment was more than $5,000, I would need to provide a cashier's check. When I brought this to the attention of the finance representative, I was told that the salesperson was not aware of the "new policy."This added to my concern because I was receiving different information from different people within the same dealership.I want to be clear that I understand a dealership is a business and needs to make a profit. I also have no issue paying the agreed-upon price for the vehicle, and I ultimately did exactly that. My concern is not that the dealership made money on the transaction. My concern is how the financing process was handled and the lack of consistency and transparency in the information I was given. The finance representative specifically told me that this was a Toyota policy. Because I was concerned and wanted to understand exactly what the policy was, I later contacted Goldenwest Credit Union myself. I specifically asked whether they had any agreement or policy with Larry H. Miller Toyota that prevented them from issuing a check that I could take to the dealership. Goldenwest told me that they did not have such a policy. There was also an interaction at the dealership that further contributed to my concerns. At one point, when I entered the finance representative's office on my own, he got on the phone. He briefly picked up the phone, and he at the end of the phone called explain he had been speaking with someone at Goldenwest Credit Union. From my perspective, the nature of that conversation sounded less like a simple effort to clarify the situation and more like an attempt to persuade me that this new policy was an legitimate agreement between both the dealershipand the Credit Union.. I obviously cannot speak to what was said on the other end of the call, but the interaction left me even more uncomfortable about the explanation I had been given. At that point, I was left with a very difficult question: if Goldenwest was telling me there was no such policy, while the finance representative was telling me that it was a Toyota policy, then where exactly was the disconnect?Either the information provided to me by the dealership was inaccurate, the information provided to me by the credit union was inaccurate, or there was a significant misunderstanding between the two organizations or just with me. Regardless of the explanation, I believe the customer should not be placed in the position of having to determine which party is providing accurate information about something as important as how the vehicle can be paid for. What is most disappointing to me is that this experience overshadowed what should have been a very positive purchase. I had been waiting for this vehicle for approximately a month and was excited to finally take it home. Instead, I left the dealership feeling frustrated and distrustful of the financing process.I ultimately completed the purchase, accepted the vehicle, and fulfilled my financial obligations with Larry H. Miller Toyota. I am satisfied that I purchased the vehicle I wanted, and the RAV4 itself is a beautiful vehicle. However, I am very dissatisfied with how the financial portion of the transaction was handled.Customers deserve transparency, consistency, and straightforward communication, particularly when dealing with significant financial transactions. When policies are presented inconsistently, or when explanations seem to change depending on who is providing the information, it understandably creates a lack of trust. This experience unfortunately reinforced some of the negative perceptions people have about purchasing vehicles through dealerships. I sincerely believe that the way the finance portion of my transaction was handled could and should have been much more transparent and professional. It is a lot of money we agree to pay.I appreciate the opportunity to purchase my RAV4, but I cannot overlook the way the financing process was handled or the way the situation made me feel as a customer. As a result, although I have completed my transaction with Larry H. Miller Toyota, I do not anticipate returning to the dealership for another vehicle purchase in the future.I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used as an opportunity to review the dealership's financing and payment procedures, as well as how those policies are communicated to customers. My intention in providing this feedback is not simply to complain, but to honestly express how disappointing this experience was and how strongly it has affected my confidence in the dealership. In the end, I purchased a beautiful vehicle, but I also walked away having learned a hard lesson. It was certainly not a lesson I expected to learn from what I had hoped would be an exciting and positive experience, but it is one I will not forget. Going forward, I will make sure I fully understand every aspect of the financing and payment process before entering into another transaction with either a credit union or a car dealership. This was a difficult lesson to learn, but I learned it, and I will make sure I never find myself in the same situation again.Thank you for taking the time to read my concerns.

Great service from the sales rep, thorough explanations of the car's specs and the financing process. We got a great monthly payment and interest rate for being first-time buyers. Only issue was that the financing manager made us wait to finish the process for over an hour while socializing with his coworkers, then went through the paperwork extremely quickly and did not tell us our original quoted price was being raised by over $1k. Everything else went smoothly.
