We even accepted the offer of a swap, however every car within our budget that we chose was conveniently sold after radio silence from Gethin. This includes a Mazda CX-5 which apparently sold before Gethin even confirmed our test drive so has clearly led us up the garden path. Gethin made no effort to understand our requirements and assist in our search either.The car that we purchased was with Lookers for three weeks out of the four we have owned it (we got five days use of the vehicle before the fault appeared) with very little to no update unless we chased this. The car was returned to us in the early stages of Lookers having the car only for the engine light to come straight back on. It was then sent back and was away for weeks with no real progress. Despite being offered a courtesy car, I advised that I had strict policies to follow at work for the car to be approved for use and despite being advised this was fine the requirements could not be met, meaning I have been unable to fulfil my role at work due to Lookers. Gethin has been advised of this multiple times.Further, we went to test drive another vehicle at another branch yesterday however this had very poor idling so have not decided to pursue this further given the prior negative experience.We have since purchased a vehicle elsewhere however due to having a hard search from the finance for the car we purchased from Lookers which we have now had to reject, the APR is higher and is costing us an extra £600 over the term of the finance. We were advised we couldn’t use finance already taken out even if we were to swap for another car in Lookers so this is unavoidable (i.e. this would still have happened even if we had swapped cars) and Gethin himself advised he couldn’t/wouldn’t remove the hard search so I am very frustrated at this as we are facing financial impacts through no fault of our own.To make this right, I feel the following should be actioned:• A refund of £350 for our deposit and the full tank of fuel that we left the vehicle with, as well as a reflection of the back and forth we have had to do to the branch due to the faulty vehicle which is not only fuel costs but expense for the Tyne Tunnel.•Compensation of £500 to reflect the increased APR in order to put us in the same position as we were prior to purchase. This isn’t the full increase amount, so I feel this to be more than reasonable.I hope the above can be agreed as a gesture of goodwill and that I won’t have to escalate this further.SincerelyCourtney

We enquired for a Ford Kuga from Scotland after seeing it on the Lookers website. Our sales person Mark Green was very helpful and tried his best to arrange transfer of the car from a different Lookers Ford franchise as it was easier to pick up from South Shields. He very kindly looked into fitting a tow bar as well.While in the process we found an identical car for significantly less elsewhere, but Mark could not match the price as Lookers does not do price matching if more than 100 miles away. This was not the fault of Mr Green, but a flaw in the Lookers policy.

The 9 year old car I enquired about is due a new cam belt. The salesman told me that you don't fit them and that it wasn't due until the vehicle reached 100,000 miles. This is wrong.
