Lookers302 Sealand RoadCHESTERCH1 4LQ20 May 2026COMPLAINT: Re Vauxhall Corsa DE71KUADear Sir/MadamI am raising a formal complaint regarding the Vauxhall Corsa we purchased on 31 January 2026, supplied with a one-year Platinum Plus warranty. On 6 May 2026 we noticed oil patches on the driveway coming from the vehicle. This fault has arisen within six months of purchase. We are therefore raising this under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, not only under the warranty. We were originally told at the point of sale that warranty work could be carried out at our nearest VAT-registered garage. However, when I contacted Lookers, I was then told the car had to return to Lookers Chester. A provisional booking for 13 May was discussed, but we later discovered it had not been booked. We have now been told the earliest date is 18 June 2026.This is not acceptable. The vehicle appears to have an oil leak, and I rely on it daily as I am the sole carer for my elderly father, who has Alzheimer’s. Continuing to use the vehicle may cause further damage, and travelling around 35 miles to Chester with a suspected oil leak is also a concern.Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, any repair must be carried out within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience. A delay until 18 June is not reasonable in the circumstances. We require Lookers to confirm, within 48 hours, one of the following:1. An urgent inspection and repair date with an immediate courtesy car; or2. Written authorisation for the vehicle to be inspected and repaired at a local VAT-registered garage, with the cost covered by Lookers/warranty; or3. Collection/recovery of the vehicle to Lookers at your cost, with a courtesy car provided from the date of collection. Please also confirm whether Lookers authorises continued use of the vehicle until 18 June, and whether any engine damage caused by continued use during this delay will remain Lookers’ responsibility. We also note that service paperwork supplied with the vehicle refers to a previous oil leak around the engine area, and we have identified a front bumper dent visible in images from the time of purchase. We require Lookers to investigate whether these matters were known prior to sale and whether the vehicle was accurately described to us.If this is not resolved promptly, we will escalate the matter to the credit card provider under Section 75, The Motor Ombudsman if applicable, Citizens Advice/Trading Standards, and any relevant warranty complaints process.Yours faithfully,Deborah Jones

Paid £100 deposit to have first refusal on a second hand car, issues with the radio was not being addressed/resolved within a reasonable period, therefore asked for our deposit back, waited for 3-5 working days, then was told 7 working days, this has now also passed, still not received our deposit back. The way that this has been dealt with is not acceptable at all.

Seen a car I liked on website. Had response straight away

This vehicle is constantly getting battery drainage issues. When purchasing the vehicle (my first electric car) I was very concerned about the battery and charging, this was why I purchased the RAC warranty sold to me by yourselves. Upon checking the RAC warranty i found out it did not cover batteries? Why would I buy a warranty on an electric car that did not cover batteries? I have had to pay to replace the 12V battery myself even though the drainage is a direct result of a different vehicle fault NOT the battery itself. It's now been just two months since the repair and the vehicle is back in with yet another battery drainage fault. The car is non stop trouble, It's difficult to charge - I am constantly left stuck at services unable to charge it. This vehicle is not fit and I am constantly anxious about when the next problem will occur. I've checked my finance to see if I can get rid of this and get a new one but to my astonishment there is £5K gap in what it's 'worth' and what I owe - how can that be?, I really feel ripped off. I will be contacting ombudsman regarding the selling of the RAC warranty.

I purchased vehicle DE71KUA on 31 January 2026. I've recently found it has an oil leak, I contacted Lookers to report it via Chris Warren's email. When I spoke with him to confirm how we go about booking the car in for repair at our local garage under the warranty he said he'd misinformed us and we needed to take it back to Lookers Chester. Then he put me through to servicing, I spoke with Lynne who said she'd provisionally book the car in for 13th May but would phone me back to confirm time etc. She didn't phone me back so I called Lookers again on 7th May only to find the car hadn't been booked in at all!I have several concerns to be addressed:1. We took out the warranty specifically because Chris said we could use our local Vat registered garage, as we live 35 miles away, therefore Chester is not convenient.2. I was told there would be no courtesy car therefore, I would be stranded in Chester for the duration of the car being in the garage3. The car has an oil leak and I am not confident in driving it for 35 miles.4. I need the car daily as I am the sole carer for my 85 year old father and to collect my grandson from school and cannot wait in Chester all day. Please confirm, in writing, that we can use our local garage (as we were initially told) to repair the oil leak and that all costs will be met by Lookers without affecting our statutory rights or validity of warranty.Furthermore, when putting down cardboard to monitor the leak I have noticed damage to the bumper beneath the number plate, which is exposing the bare metal. As it was sold in this condition please advise about arranging for the repair of the damaged bodywork at your cost.I look forward to hearing from you within 5 days.RegardsDeborah Jones.
