GREAT PERSON KEITH WARDLE

I am writing regarding an issue with my fathers car. It is currently in your Ellesmere Port branch with a fault concerning the rear windscreen wiper. The wiper stuck in the mid screen position for what seemed to be at the time no obvious reason, and I do not agree with their diagnosis or their attitude towards the repair.My father bought the car in September 2024. He bought the car to replace an aging Vauxhall Vectra that was past its day. He purchased a 2019 Vauxhall Astra, and although the vehicle was a few years old it had only covered around 18000 miles and was ideal for what he wanted. He is 84 years old, and has no interest whatsoever in modern gadgets.In 2025 my father had a collision in the car, and as a result of this the car was put into lookers repair centre in Deeside for repair. He had been pulling into his driveway and the car took off on its own for no apparent reason, but that is another story. The car suffered damage to both sides, and at the time was a borderline write off,however it was eventually repaired by lookers and he was reunited with the car. I have mentioned this as I feel it is relevant to the issue we currently have.He doesn`t use the car very often but he went for a bag of chips last week, and for the first time since the repair he was out in the rain. As the car is designed the rear wiper activated when he reversed, but it then stopped in its midway position and would not return. I contacted Lookers about the issue and they said they would look at the vehicle, and if there was a motor issue it would be covered under the warranty. When my father bought the car it came with 12 months, which he then paid extra and extended it to two years, The car is therefore supposed to be under warranty till September 2026.From my initial observations I believed it to be the park sensor that was at fault,however I have now been told by the dealer that the park sensor is out of calibration. I have looked through the criteria for this to happen, and nothing has been done by us that could have caused the issue. The only people that could have carried out the necessary actions to cause the fault (i.e the main dealer whilst carrying out accident repairs ),and we are now facing a £170 bill for their incompetence whilst carrying out the work. As I have previously explained, they were the last people that would have carried out any work that could have resulted in this fault.The car is still in lookers (supposedly repaired), and I am going to collect it tomorrow, and it will come complete with a £170 bill which we should not be paying. I used to use lookers in Chester but gave up with them due to their incompetence and at first Ellesmere Port seemed to be alright. In hindsight they seem to be as bad.If this is not sorted out it will be the last time I use Lookers in Ellesmere Port, and I will inform others of my issues. The service receptionist seems to change her attitude more than the weather and I have quite frankly had enough of them, and to a certain extent Vauxhall in general. I got rid of one of my vauxhalls 12 months ago. I had an astra griffin that I initially bought for my mother 3 months before she passed away, it was fine when I bought it until Lookers Chester did a software update, lying to me about its true implications. Kept blocking the DPF afterwards. I am writing this with my fathers approval, as he doesn`t use computers.I look forward to hearing your comments on the issue.

I was enquiring after some information on a car (CX18VOO), I tried Lookers website but the chat bot blocked me. I had to resort to Auto trader! I asked several questions - but didn't get a reply. I think someone may have rang me, but they didn't leave a voicemail - or ring back. I never did get the info I required before travelling to see the car.

I am raising a formal complaint regarding a vehicle I purchased from you, a Peugeot 3008 (67 plate DF67WRC), which has now suffered a serious mechanical failure involving the cylinder head at only 54,915 miles.This type of failure is clearly premature for a vehicle of this age and mileage. A major engine component such as the cylinder head should reasonably be expected to last significantly longer, and its failure suggests the presence of an inherent fault or lack of durability at the time of sale.Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and durable. I do not believe this vehicle meets those standards.I have also raised this matter with my finance company, Lendable, who are jointly liable under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.Given the nature of the fault, I am requesting that you provide a full repair at no cost to myself, or alternatively make a substantial contribution towards the repair.I would appreciate your prompt response and a proposed resolution.

Very helpful especially a man named Carl who rang us with an offer for a automatic Corsa which we are looking for or any automatic car

2 weeks the car as had gear problems rac been out. 1 repair to the clutch, track rod perished, Cust called but not getting anywhere. promised to refund some of the money but nothing at present. cust asked to send bank details and her signature over by email not happy to do this.
