There was minor damage to two parts of the trim around the gear shift stick caused during the repair. This is only cosmetic but is visible.

This was not a routine visit. I was experiencing very noisy steering, which resulted in needing a new steering column.When I rang to arrange an appointment the earliest available was 7 days away. So I was without my car for a week. If I wanted a Courtesy Car or Collection and Delivery Service I would have to wait THREE WEEKS! Ellesmere Port is my nearest Lookers branch is 15miles from my home and it would take about 2hours to get there on Public Transport. As I had to leave the car as it was considered unsafe to drive, I was lucky that a friend was available to come and pick me up. Although she had two appointments the next day she was able to drive me back to collect my car. Without this friend Wednesday and Thursday would have been even more stressful. The booking staff had failed to note that I wished to wait while the car was examined, at least the reception staff (in this case, Pauline) were far more helpful and immediately marked the job sheet "waiting" in large red letters. She also arranged for me to use Bumper for payment. The Service Centre obviously has no capacity for urgent work to be undertaken. While the service for planned servicing or MOT's is excellent I dread having a urgent problem. This situation has arisen since the branches at Liscard (Wallasey) and Birkenhead have closed, obviously customers on the Wirral Peninsular are getting a much poorer service.
