I think it’s too much to ask of customers to put down a £500 deposit just to view a car. I haven’t experienced this at any other car dealership. It’s also taken ages to get this refunded..

From the moment I first enquired, the whole experience by Shahria was friendly, professional and reassuring. Buying a car is a big decision, and I never felt pressured into making one. The team took the time to answer all of my questions, allowed me to inspect the car thoroughly and were happy for me to take my time before deciding. They also agreed to refurbish the alloy wheels, repair the windscreen chip, carry out a fresh service and MOT, and explained everything clearly throughout the process. I left feeling confident that I was buying from a dealership that genuinely cared about customer service.Shahria’s communication was excellent throughout. Emails and phone calls were answered promptly, and every question I had was dealt with professionally. I always knew what stage things were at and what would happen next, which made the whole process much less stressful.

Was phoned up by Lookers to suggest exchanging my car for a new one. The person who phoned had no idea what they were talking about, kept asking me the same questions, said they could probably do a cheaper deal. After wasting ages of my time, he discovered it would be much more expensive and would be better to wait another year, which was what I was planning to do anyway. Overall totally unprofessional and anoying.

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Recall Appointment and Poor ServiceDear Sir/Madam,I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding the handling of my vehicle recall and the poor level of service I have received.I booked my vehicle in for the recall on 26 May 2026, with an appointment scheduled for 6 July 2026 at 11:00 am. At the time of booking, Lookers confirmed that a courtesy car would be available. However, when I arrived for my appointment, a member of the service department informed me that no courtesy car was available. I had travelled approximately 10 miles to the dealership, and arranging transport home was both difficult and inconvenient.More importantly, when I dropped my vehicle off, there were no warning lights displayed on the dashboard. However, when I collected the vehicle after the recall work had been completed, an SOS warning light was showing. I immediately raised this with the same member of staff, who explained that during the diagnostic testing, the SOS battery had lost power. I was advised to continue driving the vehicle for two or three days as the battery would recharge itself. It has now been over two and a half weeks, and the SOS warning light is still present. I contacted the service department again and spoke with Rachel Green, who informed me that the required part would be ordered. It has now been over a week, and I have still not received any update or appointment to have the issue repaired. This is my work vehicle, and I rely on it every day. I find it unacceptable that my vehicle was returned to me with a fault that was not present before the recall appointment. In my view, this issue was caused during the recall process, and it should have been resolved before the vehicle was returned to me.I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication, poor customer service, and the overall management of this matter. I request that Volkswagen carries out a full investigation into how this situation occurred and arranges for my vehicle to be repaired without any further delay. I would also appreciate an explanation as to why I was promised a courtesy car that was not available upon my arrival.I look forward to receiving your prompt response and a satisfactory resolution to this complaint.Yours faithfully,Mr A Asad
