My experience following my most recent visit to VW was “like the curate’s egg” good (and very good) in parts. On Monday 13 March I telephoned VW to report a recurring “fault message” showing on the dashboard screen. During the conversation I requested a courtesy car. After checking availability I was told the first one available was on MAY 3, In SEVEN weeks time !! Clearly not acceptable. Consequently I drove a 50 miles round trip to VW Scotswood where Amy Adamson very politely and very professionally sorted out the booking for my visit 100% to my satisfaction. A convenient date was arranged and agreed and Amy also arranged for my car to be collected from and delivered to my home . 10 stars for Amy Adamson 2 stars for VW central booking.

Car in for first service, booking / check-in procedure excellent, friendly and very knowledgeable representative (Claire Russell), and accommodated a last minute request for an early return of car. So no complaints about the servicing process, but less happy about the original quality of the car and information from the manufacturer: - rear wiper had to be replaced after less than 1 year and 2600 miles. Previous Passat had 1 replacement in 15 years - 10 units of 'ad blue' were required - I had originally been told this would not be required until about 5000 miles - wing mirrors don't fold in automatically, although user guide suggests otherwise, and which is what I had expected from a new car, hardly bottom of the range, from a prestigious supplier - radio stations frequently 'jump' to other stations - a passenger received a phone call and it played through the media system without the phone being 'linked' - coolant required topping up after only 2500 miles (warning light illuminated) - user guide has no instructions about controls on multi-function steering wheel

Great, efficient service as usual. Can't praise Lookers Scotswoo highly enough. Highly recommend them.
