He , who is willing-eth to budge an inch , selleth a car and he who isn’t , won’t. The punter needs to at least “ think” he is getting a reasonable deal. Just because your cars are maybe priced well with a good warranty, doesn’t mean you don’t have to budge an inch. The pretence of “ fixed pricing” so you don’t have to barter just means…… you have an excuse not to barter! On the plus side, the salesman was friendly and helpful but probably lost the sale due to him refusing to offer even a single sweetener! I then left and bought a car that had better spec with a much better part-ex value.

Always a pleasure dealing with the staff at Lookers in Northallerton, particularly this time with Alice Pickering on the service side. Also James Fawcett, sales executive, who I am at present in contact with regarding the purchase of a new car, which will be the fifth I have bought with him, proof of his efficiency and expertise in selling cars.
