We need more attention to detail. Building isVery dirty .. especially hallways and the elevators are disgusting. All weekend (fromFriday to today) the front gate has been wide open. This was reported as an emergency and no action. Security here is compromised. Mera overlooked.North door will not open. Seems we either have doors that don’t open or more likely, they don’t look at allThen…. Do we need to mention the pool? Very poor planning not to have a secure contract to get it repaired and reopenef in a timely manner. We do live in Phoenix … millions of pools and pool companies. Why was this not done during the winter instead of now with warm weather when the pool is used.by many.I moved in the first week Blg 2 opened. What we were told of amenities and activities has disappeared through the years. These promises were why I moved to thisBuilding.Lastly, the base mount I’ve paid per month for 4 years is several hundred more per month. than same apartments on floor 1 and floor 4. Residents do talk and we’re aware. The tv in the theatre does not work most of the time. This is only a short list. I feel the owners are the basis of a lot of these problems. They don’t seem to want to spend any money. Why have we gone through 7-8 different management teams! Why do we not have cleaning crew? Why can we not keep maintenance? We have no water machine in the bistro. We have been told to walk down the hall to bldg 3 wheee there is a water fountain. What??Plants that died when building opened and then died have never been replaced. Take a look at the Mera building in Surprise. There’s no comparison! It’s a flagship property. Weee the poor cousin who was built during Covid.I need answers to my many concerns before I decide if I’m renewing my lease.

Pool and courtyard are poorly maintained. No water in pool for quite some time, broken umbrellas are removed rather than replaced, lounge chairs are not padded. The foliage behind the pool ramp and surrounding the pool should be much more luxurious by now…this is our 4th year living here and it isn’t any prettier than on day one. I do miss having a hot tub. The fact that we need to go indoors, dripping wet to pass the bistro to get to a bathroom rather than having one outside is disappointing. Our prior apartment community had these items and we miss them. The bistro: water cooler was removed so no water is available to drink. We’re supposed to walk to the bathrooms and drink out of the fountain apparently. The apartment: floor plan and kitchen are very nice but carpet and appliances are not. Interior doors to wash machine and closets are inoperable and not fixable. Security: is very poor, but I’m on the top floor and am not out and about late in the evenings, so don’t feel affected by that as much as others. Outside windows have never been washed in the 4 years we’ve been here. Exercise: I don’t feel Sparrow avidly promotes exercise for the elderly who live here. It seems they love to feed us 😅 but as far as I know, there hasn’t been an administrator who seems enthusiastic about promoting health and movement. None have attended a class or verbally promoted better attendance. There could be health challenges of some sort that could be fun. Cleanliness: Since Wendy left, our most excellent cleaning woman, cleanliness of the floors and public areas has taken a dive. But I didn’t expect the expert service Wendy gave Mera to be continued. She was one of a kind. All in all, in spite of my comments above, I do love the welcome I’ve been given, the friends I’ve made, and the ease of joining them for card playing, book club, puzzle room, etc. I love that I can live with friendly people and join in activities without driving across town. I love that it’s a 55 and over active lifestyle … although the advertising is a bit spun. The reality is that this community has become more of a 70 and over sedentary but well fed community. I would strongly discourage an active 55 year old from moving to Mera Goodyear. But then, I do not believe the active 55 year old is in Sparrow’s target audience. The “55+ active” is a misnomer but works well to draw residents into these communities whose next step will be assisted living.

Cable TV, trash removal too expensive for service received. One covered parking should be part of rent not extra
