Initially the service tech just cleared the CEL code which indicated a major defect in the exhaust valve/head and claim it was fixed, but I was able to communicate to the Service Manager (Janet) that I had already cleared the code twice and it would return. She was receptive to my concern and they kept the vehicle a bit longer and confirmed the code reappeared and it was a defect covered under Toyota powertrain warranty. While the repair took a fair while due to parts availability (~4 weeks), the Service Department (and Janet specifically) was very communicative, helpful, and friendly. She organized a loaner vehicle for us to span the duration and when the vehicle was ready, it was a painless process to pick up.
