We asked to see a salesman but were left without attention for 10 minutes before we asked again and someone was eventually sent. We returned to test drive a Q6 electric car and were given the keys with little explanation of the controls and no one accompanying us. The car was filled with personal belongings, children’s items and not clean. A very poor service and resulting in us not buying the car. My partner has had many Audis over the years and the service of his car was the initial reason for being in the dealership.

Prompt replies to my questions. Kept me updated regarding the car

In December 2020 I bought the vehicle registered under the above as a new car from Newcastle Audi. With the exception of a continuing issue I am having with the car (see below) i have been very happy with the car. I have not always been happy with the aftersales service provided by the service department at Lookers Newcastle Audi !The problem I have been experiencing with the car relates to a creaking noise around the Near Side Front suspension. I raised this as a concern with Newcastle Audi when the car went in for its first service in or around December 2021. The service department explained that the technician assigned to the job on that occasion could not replicate the concern. The process was repeated when the car was booked in for its second, third, and fourth services. The outcome was the same on each occasion.Prior to booking the car in for its fifth service my husband did some investigation on the internet which suggested a number of owners of Audi Q3's had raised a similar concern. One suggestion was that the concern could relate to the transverse elastometer bushing on the lower control arm. On one forum an Audi Technical Service Bulletin is mentioned - TSB 2043424/18. I am not sure if that service bulletin is European or not but suspect that if it is not then a European equivalent exists. I seem to recall my husband saying the service manager described the service bulletin slightly differently but relating to the same issue. That suggests to me that there is a European or updated TSB. The bulletin recommends greasing the bushing or replacing the control arm and/or ball joint. My husband discussed my concerns with your service manager before I brought the car in for its fifth service and, towards pre-empting the inevitable 'could not fault at time of test', mentioned the TSB and also offered the opportunity for a technician to visit my home so I could demonstrate the noise to him/her on a road where the creaking noise always happens. Your service manager said he would arrange for the bushing to be greased with the appropriate lithium grease but flatly refused to send a technician to my home.Unfortunately, I have no evidence that confirms the Service Manager's statement that he would arrange for the bushing to be greased or any evidence to suggest that it was actually done. If it was done then it has made no difference what so ever!My husband subsequently contacted Lookers Newcastle Audi and discussed matters further with your service manager. My husband again offered the opportunity for a technician, or even the service manager himself, to visit my home so I could reproduce the creaking noise. Your service manager flatly refused to do either but appeared content for me to take the car back to the centre (again). He explained he would personally drive my car for a couple of days to see if the noise could be replicated. He also offered a courtesy car free of charge and stated that in his opinion the creaking noise did not constitute a safety concern but more of a nuisance ! Safety concern or not, nuisance or not, it is disappointing that the concern I raised over four years ago continues to exist. I considered his offer but could not see, after several unsuccessful attempts over the four years prior to replicate the creaking noise, how that might achieve a different outcome. Would he even know what noise to listen for ? In view of that I declined his offer.I remain very disappointed in Lookers Newcastle Audi's attitude towards achieving a positive outcome and fixing the issue with my car which has continued since I bought the car and now look to you for a solution.I look forward to hearing from you within the next 28 days which I trust will provide you with sufficient opportunity to investigate my complaint.I am aware that I may not find your response helpful. I am also aware that I have the opportunity to escalate this matter to The Motor Ombudsman. In view of that please ensure the full complaint reference is included in any correspondence.
