Why call me and tell me to be at the clinic15 minutes before my appointment. And make me wait in the waiting room for 45 minutes. I don't understand.

My primary care provider is not practicing at the moment, for reasons mysterious and unknown. I can't imagine that she would give up her practice because she has always seemed extremely dedicated to her profession and to her patients. Anyway, I feel that my care has suffered because I have to wait until October 31 to see a new primary care provider to follow up on my current condition. My husband called for an appointment with this provider for a much less acute issue with his back and will be seen October 3. Who decides? Is it the person who answers the phone? What kind of training and education is required for persons making these decisions? I feel cast aside and disappointed in PDH, the hospital I have appreciated and supported most of my life.
