I have a very rare disease with no cures or treatments complicated with other major medical problems.Dr. Lewis has literally saved my life and extended it greatly. The North Fork staff have always been extremely kind and helpful. My last emergency room visit was exceptionally helpful, sincere, and helped greatly as well as make me feel very comfortable about using the plumas district hospital ER. (With my disease I can only treat symptoms and am about to be there a little more).During the past few years while getting diagnosed I was in a great deal of pain and discomfort. I was angry and lashed out at PDH and Dr. Lewis and staff. I was very wrong in doing this and wanted to take the time to let PDH know how thankful I truly am. There are several people in major cities with this disease that are getting nowhere. It's recommended I move to a city with no services. However, I am staying in quincy.I understand PDH is in a small rural area and there are issues between patients and PDH. In the past I had several problems. However, and administrator (grievience counselor?) Helped me through those hurdles and along with personal help from the National Institute of Health and Dr lewis we were all able to achieve what most can not.I am truly grateful. The only thing I have is security in my health. My medical issues take up 100% of my time. I only think and deal with that. Having security in knowing Dr. Lewis and PDH have my back and are caring and compassionate and extremely great is a feeling I can't describe in a few words.Thank you so very much for the care and support.I have some ideas on how to help others with rare diseases and such. Medi-cal now pays for rare symptom diagnosis and there are many organizations that help with all genetic testing etc. Most of the information I have most doctors don't know. Not because they are not doing their job. But because it's changing daily, it's a full time job to keep up on.If someone would like to contact me and discuss the subject I have ideas on how to bring awareness to these programs to both patients and Doctors. I know several individuals who would benefit by this.I know how to get the referrals and to whom and where. The genomics community is offering a lot of accessable ways to make it easier for patients to get tested. The more people that get tested the more doors that opens up.I am currently trying to use any free time to help others that haven't had my opportunity.Sincerely grateful,Kenneth Henson

I haven't had very good experiences with my primary providers, but I look forward to continuing my care with Dr. Leonardo.

I was in a lot of pain and they treated it seriously. I got the assistance I needed and the care I deserved.
