For my procedure, I had an excellent experience. The tech who did my CT scan was very knowledgeable, helpful, quick, and professional. He could not have done better. I was very unimpressed with the lady who managed the front desk. While she handled my transaction fine, I left the office and spoke with some colleagues about what I witnessed and we all agreed, she violated HIPAA multiple times in the front lobby. I think it should bear in mind, I work in a field and own a Company that has to work with HIPAA regulations regularly. I'm keenly aware of the rules. During check-in, I understand you have digital forms that need to be completed and can be completed in a waiting room privately. However, there was an older lady who was still completing the forms before her exam. When the front desk lady noticed the tech was ready, she politely sat with the woman and explained that she would be glad to help her complete the forms. A very kind gesture, but then began to complete the equivalent of a Medical History form. I, and everyone in the room, was now essentially sitting in on her Medical History review being orally read out loud. The technician called her by her name, and thus paired Personally Identifiable information with her medical history. A second instance was when the same front desk lady began to ask a woman to verify her name, age, and then cover her height, and the date of her first menstrual cycle. None of this should be orally discussed in a waiting room with other people. These are private medical questions that should be captured either 1) in a secure room or 2) on a form. Oral interviews in public spaces on medical history violate patients rights. Again, I hope it's clear that the intent was clearly not to violate patient privacy but how this young lady is going about managing operationally things in the front lobby is highly concerning. If she had called out ANY of my information, I would have filed an official complaint.

I arrived early and was checked in immediately. Shortly after sitting down in the waiting room, I was called to the exam room for treatment. Everyone I encountered was pleasant, professional and the entire experience was a 10+.
