I couldn't get a parking space so I was 5 minutes late for my booked test drive. When I arrived I could see all the sales team having a chat at the back of the showroom. The receptionist asked who I had an appointment with and responded as if she'd never heard of Ethan.I had to wait for another 20 minutes with other with other customers. Turns out Ethan was double booked and another customer had to be passed on to Gareth(?).Ethan then introduced himself but was clueless as to what car I had arranged to test drive.During the test drive Ethan was very knowledgeable and I liked the car. With the poor experience at the start I was put off and drove to Newry where I purchased the same model and spec from Shelbourne.Ethan asked to let him know if I was going to buy the car or not but he didnt give me a business card, contact phone number or email to update him.

The salesman was exceptional, Declan Magill , very clear and well knowledged on the Renault 5 Electric . I also explained that , while I was very interested in the car , he didn’t lose interest , and was not a ‘ Pushy Salesman ‘ .

Video of demo was to be supplied, never happened.Phoned to get a test drive in demo, arrived to test drive car, no fuel in car and petrol pumps out of order, so very short test drive. Asked for figures against my car for new and demo, never happened. Phoned to ask about figures, two days to return call and comment he didn't press the button send still waiting. Stephen Power was extremely helpful and listened to my needs. I unfortunately had a bad experience in the past with Charles Hurst Newtownabbey and Stephen has regained my trust with the company. I was never going to return to Charles hurst however Stephen has been very good to deal with and this is the only reason I’m returned as a customer.

Ruth was my sales person she was great from selling my own car to getting my next car told me everything I needed to know

I bought a Renault Captur 2021 from the Dealership in Chimney Corner Mallusk at the end of July 2025.When I test drove the car the SOS function was not working and they told me that it was because it couldn't get signal and it would be fine. All the plastic trim on the right side at the bottom of the car was all faded and there was an agreement that they would respray it for me. The vehicle was delivered to me to the dealership in Belfast and I noticed that the trim was not repaired.I mentioned it to them and they told me to book an appointment again to fix it. Once I drove away from the dealership in I noticed that there was an issue with the gearbox when trying to go from second gear to neutral. The gear lever would get stuck and I wasn't able to put it back to first gear unless I used excessive force and only then it would unblock. I drove straight away back to the dealership but the salesperson had just left the premises so I had to go back at another time.In the meantime I was monitoring the SOS system that was always coming up with a message "Warning: Check SOS call" on the dashboard and the spanner key was also illuminated, the start-stop system was not working and the rear camera visibility was extremely poor and during the night it was almost impossible to see anything.I took the car back to the dealership, mentioned the issues that I had and they booked the car for a service. They told me that the car needed a new TCU (Telematics Computer Unit) that would cost around £2000 but it was covered under warranty. Regarding all the other issues they told me that they did checks and everything was fine.I want to point out at this point that I bought the car because I had a new born baby and as there were medical issues I had to go to the hospital very often and this was a huge problem for me that I didn't have a car. When they called me to go and pick up the car I noticed that the gearbox was still getting stuck, so a mechanic came and tried to lubricate the gearbox cables and told me to take it for a drive for a couple of days and see how it behaves. The issue persisted so I went back, mentioning all the issues that I still had. Another mechanic came to check the car with me and said that they will need to replace the gearbox cables and the rear camera needs to be replaced as well, because it is faulty. They replaced they gear cables hoping it would work and they also told me that car needed a new battery for the start stop system to work which they replaced. Regarding the camera they told me that it is a known issue and the official statement from Renault is that "There will be an update", despite the fact that the mechanic said it needs to be replaced.I went back to the dealership to pick up the car with the new cables installed (I was at the hospital at the point as my daughter was admitted, being very sick and had to stay for 5 days) and without even driving the car, the issue was still there so I refused to pick up the car. After checking it again and they told me that the gearbox will need to be replaced again. In total they had the car for the gearbox replacement for about 3 weeks and when I asked for a replacement car they told me that they don't provide one.I got a text on my phone at some point in order to do an evaluation of my experience as a customer and once I stated all the facts and that I had to leave the hospital and go over there and the car was still faulty, they offered to give me a replacement car.As soon as the new gearbox was installed, they called me that the car is ready so I could go and pick it up.I got the car back, drove it for a while and noticed that the brightness on the multimedia screen was malfunctioning and the new gearbox had also issues when I was going change from 5th gear, it would get stuck in the neutral position. I went back to the dealership again to book a new appointment and I told them that I would be away for 6 weeks so I offered them to keep the car and sort it out as there would be no need for me to have a car for that time period. Response was that they can't do that and I booked an appointment for the date that I would be back.Fast forward I booked another appointment on 21st of January for a new gearbox and again there was no replacement car offered. I called after a week to check about the progress and they told me that the car would be ready by Thursday/Friday 6th of February. I called back on Thursday 4th of February and was told that the car would be ready by Monday or Tuesday 10th of February. I decided to not phone again and showed up to the dealership on Tuesday the 10th which is when the car was supposed to be ready. What I was told is that the car again is not ready and in fact the mechanic that was responsible to sort my car out is sick or something like that so nobody had done anything with my car and nobody knows when it is going to be ready. At this point I had a chat with the manager and only then they offered to give me a replacement car as I need a car to drive my daughter for hospital appointments.I want to mention here, that by luck, the rental car that I was offered is a Renault Captur same model as mine and the camera is spotless so I am getting confused why they can't fix mine as well.I believe that it is totally unacceptable that I paid around £11000 for a car that was "Used and Approved" from the dealership and so far the repairs I estimated that cost around £5000, and so far the car must have spent about 2 months in the repairshop, needed a new battery, 2 new gearboxes, a telematics computer, it has a faulty camera that they won't fix and nobody know when the car will be ready.I have also lost my trust to the dealership because according to them the car was checked over and over, but nobody realised that the gearbox was faulty. I had to demonstrate it 3 times to them, they replaced the gearbox and even though they said they tested it, it had issues again. I don't understand what checks are being done and they keep missing such a serious issue.

I am writing to formally complain about the purchase of a 2022 Renault Megane E-Tech (Reg: XGZ 8478) from your Belfast branch. I have been subjected to significant negligent misrepresentation and unprofessional conduct by the sales team.Specifically:• False Specifications: I was explicitly promised a Heat Pump equipped and 1 owner car. I hold emails and recorded phone and in person conversations where staff (Ethan) confirmed these details after "checking with the service team." It does not have a heat pump and has had 3 previous owners.• Undisclosed Damage: The vehicle was delivered with roof damage (occurred while on a transport) and electrical faults (parking sensors, buttons). My concerns were ignored for two weeks, and I was later instructed to cancel a service appointment at my local Renault centre meant to document and fix these faults.• Inadequate Redress: The branch offered a Vauxhall Mokka as a replacement, a car that is inferior in spec and valued significantly lower even on your own website.• Loss of Bargain: The Sales Manager (Joe) located a matching spec vehicle at another dealer for £19,000, confirming that the "bargain" I was promised has a market value £4,750 higher than what I paid (£14,250).I have issued a Letter Before Action to the branch. I am seeking the "Loss of Bargain" (£4,750) or the replacement vehicle at the original contract price. I am prepared to file a claim in the Small Claims Court and involve Trading Standards NI if this is not resolved.

After my initial enquiry no one contacted me, just took my details and never followed up. I'd give zero stars if it was an option.
