Hi There,In reply to the work carried out on my Renault Megane I have to say I am pretty disappointed, the collection and return were fine but the work unacceptable. When my wife opened the boot lid for the first time, it set off allsorts of flashing lights and like singing noises, it was like being in a disco.I opened the drivers car door, seeing the settings in chaos, it is stuck on a picture of the boot of car which after trying everything i can`t remove it.As far as I can tell all the tyre pressures are low as well. sending picture of pressures and relevant and corresponding wheels. Both back tires appear to be low according to the door label.

The salesman wasn’t expecting us, we spent 15mins walking around the carpark looking for a car that wasn’t there so didn’t get the opportunity to test drive. He then said he would email me to rearrange a test drive but hasn’t.

Cust purchased a vehicle on the 31/10, there have been several problems which you are aware of.Electronic traction failure. The cust has tried speaking with the sales person but this has now stopped l communication.

Hi Team,I am writing to formally report a serious fault with the vehicle (YL73 TEV) I recently purchased from your company. (Lookers Renault Stockport)Shortly after taking delivery, I charged the car for the first time and, upon starting it in electric mode, a message appeared stating “Electric traction system fault.” When I attempted to test drive it, I found that the car had no battery power at all, meaning I was unable to use the electric mode. This is extremely disappointing, especially given that the issue appeared almost immediately after purchase. As per the purchase agreement, I understand I can contact this email address to report any faults, and that my vehicle is covered by the 14 day return period. For your reference, I have forwarded my conversation with Gary Smith, who has been informed of the issue. Please confirm receipt of this email and advise on the next steps for resolving or inspecting the issue.Best Regards,Cherry Hau---------- Forwarded message ---------From: C HDate: Sat, Nov 8, 2025 at 17:58Subject: Re: Peugeot 308 SWTo: Gary SmithHi Gary,Following our call earlier, my nearest local Peugeot dealer is:WJ King Sidcup214–226 Main RoadSidcupDA14 6RRI would like to book the appointment for Wednesday at 8:30 am, if that works. Please let me know once the booking has been confirmed.Kind regards,CherryOn Fri, Nov 7, 2025 at 07:42 C Hwrote:Hi GaryI hope you’re doing well.I finally had a chance to charge the car, but I’ve noticed something concerning. I’d really appreciate it if you could have a look into this and let me know what can be done, as the manager mentioned the car comes with a 3-month warranty aftersale .Also, could you please let me know if there’s any update on the windscreen crack? Thanks very much for your help,CherryOn Tue, Nov 4, 2025 at 12:41 C Hwrote:Thanks Gary. Please see attached photo of the crack on the windscreen.Best Regards,Cherry HauOn Mon, Nov 3, 2025 at 16:18 Gary Smithwrote:Hi Cherry.Just to inform you that your car is being picked up tomorrow. I visited the dealership with the intention of buying a new car. I was interested in a couple of models but no one was interested. By this I mean, I waited around and looked for someone to engage with me but they didn't. I left to go to another dealership. I did enquire online and got a couple of emails from different members of staff. I also got a couple of missed calls. I didn't really feel valued as everything was generic. I was a bit disappointed as I'd hired a couple of Renault's and really liked them. I subsequently bought a different brand and am not as happy. I won't rule out Renault but might look at online or leasing next time.

Hi,I am submitting a formal complaint regarding the vehicle supplied by Lookers Renault Stockport – registration number AU25 JVR. The van was purchased outright for £22,798.80. It was advertised and recorded on my order paperwork as an 87 kWh E-Tech, which was a key factor in my decision to purchase, having recently been awarded the International 2025 Van of the Year. After taking delivery and fully charging the vehicle, it displayed 128 miles of available range, significantly below the quoted figure of up to 285 miles. This immediately raised concern that the vehicle either had a defect or was fitted with the wrong battery. Following subsequent calls with your team, it was confirmed to be the latter, with the vehicle equipped with a 52 kWh battery.Since delivery, I’ve had no usable vehicle, as the van is neither taxed nor insured, given that it is not what I purchased. Consequently, I have been paying for taxis to and from work or relying on friends and family for transport, which has caused considerable inconvenience while awaiting resolution.Additional points to note• I was told the vehicle would be supplied fully charged, but it arrived with a low state of charge.• The individual who delivered the vehicle on Monday evening appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, which I found completely unacceptable.• The salesperson, Gary, informed me that the annual road tax would be £220, however, it is in fact £345 per year.Overall, I am incredibly disappointed with the level of customer service I have received so far, with no reasonable proposal offered to resolve the issue beyond a refund for your mistake.Key chronologyDelivery date, Monday 27/10/2025.29/10/2025, David Rubens (Sales Manager), admitted the specification error, apologised, and confirmed I’m entitled to a full refund as it was Lookers’ mistake, asked what could be done to rectify.30/10/2025, Jordan (Business Manager), Reiterated the above. I requested a suitable like-for-like replacement with the correct 87 kWh battery.31/10/2025, David Rubens, contacted me to inform me that there are no suitable replacements available and asked me to return the vehicle for a refund, presenting this as a goodwill gesture, despite this being your mistakeLegal positionThis is a clear “not as described” case under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (ss.11 & 20). A full refund is a statutory obligation, not goodwill. The situation also constitutes misrepresentation under the Misrepresentation Act 1967.What I am seekingPlease confirm, in writing, by close of business 3 working days from today (that is, by Wednesday 05/11/2025):1. Primary remedy (preferred): Supply a like-for-like 87 kWh Renault Master at the original agreed price and specification, as originally advertised and recorded on my order paperwork.2. Interim remedy (fair and reasonable): While sourcing the correct vehicle, Lookers to provide and fully fund comprehensive temporary insurance and vehicle excise duty (road tax) for AU25 JVR, including any associated administration costs. This will allow me to use the vehicle lawfully until the replacement is supplied. Given the significant inconvenience caused by this error, I consider this the fairest and most proportionate solution under the circumstances.3. Last resort (statutory entitlement): A full refund of the purchase price, including VAT and the full part-exchange allowance, together with written confirmation of the refund amount and payment date, collection of AU25 JVR at your expense, and confirmation of how my part-exchange position will be unwound or reimbursed in full, given the vehicle was immediately sent to auction. For the avoidance of doubt, I do not consider a refund alone to be a reasonable resolution given that the vehicle was mis-sold through no fault of my own, and that I remain without transport as a direct result of Lookers’ mistake. A refund would be accepted only if no good-faith effort is made to provide either the correct vehicle or the interim support set out above. There are currently at least two vehicles listed on Auto Trader by Lookers Renault Stockport with the correct 87 kWh specification, including one advertised at £26,995 plus VAT (see listing). This confirms that suitable replacements are available within your own network. I appreciate that these are advertised at a higher retail price, but given that my purchase was made in good faith based on a clear misdescription, I would expect Lookers to supply an equivalent 87 kWh vehicle at the original agreed price or, at the very least, work towards a fair resolution without financial detriment to me.Please reply to confirm your proposed resolution and the next steps, including a clear timeline for how Lookers intends to rectify the matter. I remain open to a constructive and fair outcome, ideally the provision of a correct 87 kWh replacement, or at the very least, temporary insurance and road tax cover while one is sourced. If a suitable remedy is not confirmed by the close of business on Wednesday, 05 November 2025, I will have no option but to escalate the matter formally to the Motor Ombudsman and Trading Standards, and, if necessary, pursue recovery through the Small Claims Court. I will also share my experience through relevant consumer channels, forums and social media platforms.Kind regards,Kevin Boyle
