Knowledgeable and performed a very thorough exam. I just was surprised that I wasn't seen by Dr. Raji, whom I made the appt. with. Also, Sara is very nice but speaks extremely fast! She made me a bit nervous, and I actually asked her to 'slow down, where's the fire'?

Ms. Shaffer was fine during the visit. She asked good questions and was thorough. There is an odd thing that seems to be a common thing with my last two visits to AAMC providers, but the origin precedes my visit with Ms. Shaffer (die to the practice change at this location)However, this theme came up again with my visit with Ms. Shaffer. I saw the previous doctor at this location (Dr. Buckson) after I found a lump in my breast after having some discomfort in that area. Dr. Buckson felt the lump and sent me for a mammogram and an ultrasound. The day I went to get the mammogram and ultrasound, they seemed confused by the notes in the system (or maybe lack there of) about the location of the lump. They asked me to point out where the discomfort and lumpwere at. The lump is small and isn't easy to find. However, I was able to locate it. Ultimately, the doctor that day said they didn't see anything on the mammogram or tests. I saw in the test result notes after that write up was pretty direct about finding nothing, almost implying that nothing was there. I get that since they didn't see anything abnormal, but a lump certainly is there. But no one told me what the lump actually might be. In the end, I reconciled everything from those two visits in November by telling myself that the lumpis just normal for my body since the tests didn't find anything abnormal. Then I visited Ms. Shaffer this week, and she commented that I went for my mammogram and saw that everything was normal, so I told her the story. she said she didn't see any notes about the lump from Dr. Buckson in my file. I commented that Dr. Buckson seemed very busy that day, and was kind enough to squeeze me in for an early morning appointment, so perhaps she forgot to write the notes up in my file. Ms. Shaffer asked if Dr. Buckson felt the lump and I confirmed she certainly did (after some searching), which is why she ordered an ultrasound with the mammogram. Ms. Shaffer also found the lump during my breast exam. Like me, she reconciled that it is something that must be normal to me since the tests didn't find anything. But I know she was making notes on the lump so that we can monitor it. In the end, I just have found the whole process a little disconcerting related to the examination of the lump and the lack of explanation on what it might be. I have to trust the lump is not anything to worry about since several competent professionals have been involved. However, the process after my initial appointment with Dr. Buckson (who was kind and concerned when she found the lump) has been a little confusing and concerning. Sorry for the dissertation, but it has certainly been on my mind.
