Upon leaving a review as requested, sadly my review wasn't good. The staff came back to me with this reply : Dear Stanley, Thank you for your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear that you left feeling upset and uncomfortable following your visit. After speaking with you over the phone, we explained that due to the presence of an infection, it was not clinically appropriate to proceed with the extraction at that time as you found it too painful, the area was extremely sensitive and, despite our efforts, we were unable to achieve sufficient numbness in the gum area to carry out the tooth extraction safely and comfortably and that a course of antibiotics was required first to help reduce the infection before treatment could be carried out safely. We also offered you a further appointment to continue your treatment as soon as possible, which you declined. We understand this situation was frustrating, especially as you were hoping to have the tooth removed during your visit, but patient safety and appropriate clinical care must always remain our priority. We do appreciate your feedback and sincerely hope you are feeling more comfortable soon. However, I cannot see my review anywhere and feel this response was ignorant of the reality. I had been having severe toothache and it was almost blatantly obvious to me the tooth needed to come out but I am not a dentist. However the dentist was very quick to deal with the issue and it went badly wrong. I had to wait two days to get this emergency appointment and by which time, the toothache had all but gone. But I digressed and attended in fear it might flare back up. This was a huge mistake. I showed dentist which tooth on left lower side. So he put numbing gel on the right side. I said no. so he effectively filled the bottom half of my mouth with the stuff, sending my mouth, lips, tongue and swallowing mechanism numb. It was horrific. He has put so much in, I was swallowing it. He gave me a drink to rinse some out but the damage was done. Then he did an xray. Confirmed it should come out and the next one to it. No arguments from me. 4 or 5 injections later he had a prod and I could feel is so he gave more injections. Then the whole thing went horribly wrong. He tried to push the tooth, more and more, then tried to pull it and caused absolute excutiating pain. The numbing and injections had done nothing. I research this and find it is normal. Happens a lot in fact. They quickly ushered me to reception, gave me some paracetamol and off you go home. I had to drive 11 miles home in excruciating pain, nearly crashing 3 times and having to call an ambulance because the pain was so bacd it triggered a panic attack while driving. The response from this ordeal was very "oh never mind can you go away now" amd followed up with "sorry you felt upset and uncomfortable". Are you kidding ? I was in severe horrific pain for hours. Had I not let your dentist do anything, I would have been better off. The poor use of numbing gel. The ridiculous amount of injections. The ushering almost out the door. The ignorance to the review. yea, really caring.
