I had to visit unexpectedly on Sunday 20th October having had a root extracted and partial plate fitted on Wed 16th October. I was advised by the lovely dentist Vicky to NOT remove the plate for 48 hours and not to brush my teeth. I observed this and on Saturday commenced salt water mouth wash and stayed on soup and soft foods, however by Sunday mouth very painful. When I saw dentist Sunday 20th Oct he said I had nasty infected ( dry) socket and that keeping the plate over it for 48 hours had not helped. I had to have socket wound cleaned which was very uncomfortable then on antibiotics which are upsetting my stomach. I have taken both paracetamol and ibuprofen over last two days to alleviate the pain. So all in all not a positive experience for me, who as a carer for my husband cannot afford to be so unwell.

Booked me in for an emergency procedure on Sunday morning. Made me feel comfortable and explained all options clearly. The tooth extraction was completed with no pain and follow up support was good.

I recently visited Scott arms dental practice and after the experience that I’ve had with them I have lost all confidence. I went in for a regular check up where it was identified that I have a small hole in my tooth to which I was advised to treat as this in the future would potentially cause the issues. After the treatment I have experienced a lot of pain with the tooth that was treated as well as the tooth that was next to the current tooth I have gone back a few times now and explained the issues that I am having. However, this has been ignored and I have been charged another £45 on top of the treatment charge. I was advised that this is an issue with the teeth. Just need to have a clean. From the experience that I have had, I feel that this is just a moneymaking scheme we are me going in for a regular checkup has resulted me in pain to which I didn’t have from the start. I feel that any issues that I have regarding my teeth are not taken seriously, but instead there’s so many excuses. I do believe that had they not touched my tooth, I wouldn’t be experiencing the pain that I am currently in, this has made me take time off work which has resulted me in losing my income. I have tried to resolve this matter with the dentist directly. However, they are not willing to admit their mistake which I understand can be made, but instead it’s very much me being given an excuse of it could be for several things I understand I went in for a checkup however, I shouldn’t have come back with pain with my teeth. I have previously had treatment with other dentists however, this has never been the outcome of where I have experience pain. I understand when you have a filling you need to allow time to settle however, that was not the initial issue when I went in. All I wanted was a general check up but I took the advice of a qualified orthodontist which I thought will help me with my teeth. Please can you look into this.
