Constant staff shortagesFood is margin and a major reason not to recommend SBMC. Cost continue to rise, care the same, food no improvement, new Exec. Dir. breath of fresh air🤞

I have complained numerous times that my mother in law is 1) never in her own cloths and 2) is not wearing socks. James Cox, the exec dir, and I went into her room to check her cloths. Most of them were not hers. In fact, there was a man's tennis shoe - just one - in her closet. We did find about 4 of her shirts. Other clothing (not hers) had her name on them - but we did not write it. They said the workers grab clothing in a hurry room the laundry room without checking. The bedding was not hers. They did not know where her comforter or duvet cover were. I commented on the cloths hamper being overfull. It is never ending. If it would not affect my MIL I would remove her. The facility is always clean and my MIL is well taken care of as far as meds, but the money is not worth the care. This is my second survey. Did anything happen as a result?

activities for first floor are difficult because most residents cant respond. however those who can should be given better opportunities.short staff is chronic in this industry. new staff have no idea of what dementia patients require or what would help them in the facility.suggest laundry done by night staff as day shift is extremely busy and lots of things are lost.

No activities for lower functioning residents. Activity director unprofessional , not open to suggestions, more concerned with seasonal decorations.Assistant director hired for 1st floor activities , lacks experience only does activities with 1or 2 residents. She does activities on 2nd floor. Staff has no supervision or accountability. Shortage of med techs and staff resulting in double shifts , New hires are not trained properly, lack of dementia care knowledge and compassion. Serious laundry issues.

I have asked several times where my mother in laws cloths are. She is always wearing someone else's. More alarming, though, is a couple weeks ago she did not have any socks on. Her feet were freezing and swollen. She had a small knit blanket around her front that barely covered her shoulders and lap. I asked mgmt where her socks were. They said to please forgive us - we haven't had time to do the laundry. Not an acceptable excuse for the amount of money we pay.I also checked another resident and her hands were also freezing. They said they would look into adjusting the heat. I said it is cold in here, even for me.I went in again a few days later and my mother in law still did not have any socks on. I asked one of the workers where her socks were. They said they will get them. A week after that I received a call asking for nonskid socks. I said I had taken in two pair of Bombas but they did not know where they were. The response was well sometimes the workers just grab a pair from the laundry room without looking to see who they belong to. I then said I have been asking for years why my mother in law was always wearing someone else's cloths but I finally gave up since every time I told mgmt about it, nothing changed. Also, the fee has almost doubled in the two years she has been there. You would think for $12K a month they could keep socks on her.I do appreciate how clean the facility is, but at this point, I would not recommend it to anyone.
