Paying staff the right amount to deal with super aggressive patients. How are you gonna pay $18-$20 an hour then expect them to handle patients that can be super aggressive. Pay rate should be closer to $25 at minimum. Also have paid breaks!!!! I’ve been called outta my break 2-3 times already to assist with aggressive patients. I don’t mind helping but you should have paid breaks.

Communication between management and floor staff. Also some staff is better at being a team player than others.

I feel as if the social work team is consistently told that we are not doing enough or not doing a good job. We are truly doing our absolute best, and this is an incredibly difficult position. We are expected to be discharge planners, the main point of contact for families, provide family sessions, lead groups, meet individually with the kids, and then complete all discharge planning.I genuinely love this job, but the expectations placed on our role are extremely high, and our compensation does not reflect that. I currently make $59,000, and despite having my LSW, a master’s degree, and over two years of experience, my requests for a salary increase have been denied multiple times. It is hard to see a long‑term future in this position when I do not feel adequately compensated for the level of responsibility and emotional labor required.

Safety in intake. When patients come in and have things on them intake. It’s a small space for when patients get escalated.

Holding all staff accountable and following policies. Attendance and timeliness are a very big problem within our organization. Individuals are not truly held accountable and the staff see this, it is a very fast way to build frustration and resentment amongst staff. Everyone needs to be held to the same standard despite who you may be affiliated with.

Updated ways of providing therapy, such as the use of Interactive software for therapy that can be displayed on a tv screen. Need to ensure there is an appropriate number of staff each shift, to meet the needs of patients.
