With the current proposed merger, I will not be able to continue banking with Smart Financial. If I want to do business with a large bank, I would have my money already with one.

I’ve had account for many years. Recently I called customer service to be sure my debit card would work in England. It DID BOT work

illegal practices, including charging surprise overdraft fees, improperly reordering transactions, failing to provide proper disclosures, and incorrectly using "available balance" instead of "actual balance" when assessing fees

the website is difficult to use to make payments... confusing too...it wont let me make a payment for auto loan without linking another bank account vs use of a debit or bank routing number check account.Also, payment at branch is difficult because only accept payments via cash or cashier check so requires extra trips to bank or carrying large amount of cash to bankAlso, payment over phone with representative of SFCU takes multiple days to process and be 'seen' in system vs ability to make note payment made.Additionally, phone virtual payments are also difficult and only work with some complicated system and cannot just pay using my debit card direct... when my account password had to be reset, the SFCU system said it was down for maintenance and to 'try again'Finally, the SFCU online help and bank locations do not keep hours long enough to be useful for people who work and closing at 2pm further restricts access to make payments-given all this and to be a 5-6 weeks behind in payment (granted that is 2 payments), but getting a notarized letter threatening repossession that soon is a bit excessive.If payments being made are a priority, it would help if the payment options were easier to access, hours were more flexible and online support could indicate payment made over phone same -day

Check deposits are ridiculously slow to post in the account. The application also takes days to post a copy of a cashed check.

Your fraud department. Trash. I turned my debit card off via the cardhub, because i saw a transaction that i did not participate in. And it was still allowing transactions to happen. Truly disappointing. I didnt even get my money back.
