There is inconsistent application if company policies.Some people can show up to work drunk like Tanya and nothing happens. All she has to do is use Randy’s name and she’s fine. She makes it very clear to everyone that she is untouchable. Pick better people to make untouchable. She’s very rude to your floor staff and the others in intake she does not like. She makes up policies. She treats people like shit but it’s ok Because Randy will cover for her? Does he know how rude she is?? He must know and it’s ok. staff will quit due to herWhen floor Stefanie and Jermaine are in intake together they dint keep their hands off each other it’s disgusting.The amount of related staff there’ is confusing. The policy says related staff can’t report to the same direct supervisor 🤨 but they all do and get preference.Mustapha the housekeeper supervises his family. And tells all the staff he doesn’t have staff to do basic housekeeping dutiesRooms are not cleanned everydayThe staffing isn’t safe and will lead to more pts and staff getting hurtMost if the men that work on the first floor think they are entitled to all the women there.. it’s disgusting the way some of them try and force themselvesThe more the staffing is short the more the pts won’t get to do what the schedule says. Staff won’t do it and will tell patients that’s whyThe kids unit needs to have more responsibile staff. Staff the units appropriately. There are not enough staff on the units most days. I don t know how it’s figured out but supervisors tell us we are over on people. We are understaffed not over.When I applied here I applied at Fairfax connnections and telecare. The staffing at all of those places when I interviewed and toured were appropriate. They all had either 3 or 4 mental health technicians and two nurses. And they only have 16 pts on units at telcare and connections. It’s not safe for anyone to be so understaffed. Take safety seriously.Send people home not wearing uniforms, the earpieces.Tania in the intake department smells like alcohol often.it . She’s going to hurt someone or herself drinking at work. And she’s awful to people. She’s rude, degrading disrespectful and belittle staff. But no one hold her accountable. She does as she wants without any repercussions.That tech with the black hair and glasses on kids tells her pts she loves them. It seems inappropriate.Buy more tabletsHaveMore computers at the nurses station.Keep hosing keeping longer so we can get all the rooms cleaned daily

We need more electronics to do our job. We have broken laptops and not enough Ipads. We dont have desktops to document and sharing with the unit nurse is not feasible. We have late assessments due to not being able to find a computer to document. We also don't have enough office space to do our jobs. We have 6 people in an office that fits maybe 4 people. When we try to work in other offices in the hospital we are often interrupted or kicked out. Allyce has offered to let us use her space but she gets interrupted more than anyone else.Having a CEO that is involved is great but she does not follow through with what she claims she will do. This makes it hard to trust her after she speaks with patients and ends up adding additional work to our plate to come up with a solution.Hire a new intake director. I dont know who runs that department but we have so many errors and it leads to ama's and lots of drama spreading from that department. We are told the CEO is friends with the intake director from other nursing staff so I know this will fall on deaf ears.

Literally everything. Morale is awful. Split up the cliques on the schedule. Give people fair raises instead of a pizza party where everyone gets a half of a slice. Stop hiring idiots. Have some sort of seniority list so scheduling isn’t based on favoritism. Get rid of the last people!!!

It has been unfair as a night shift staff not getting to experience the events / food/ coffee/ ice cream etc that they provide for day shift. It feels like we aren’t as appreciated as the day shift staff. The whole week of nurse appreciation I didn’t receive a gift or thank you card or anything and there was only one activity I could attend as a night shift worker which was the food truck the rest of the days they were all things provided during day shift only which doesn’t feel good as an employee. Also there is only one working vitals machine for the entire floor which is unsafe for the patients and worries me. I believe we should have proper equipment to do our job as well as backups since this is a hospital that can have over 140 patients at a time. Another improvement would be offering more trainings , offering compensation for obtaining education while employed at Smokey point and offering employee reviews where we can find out what we are doing well and where we can improve as well as a yearly raise since the cost of living increases each year the living wage also increases . Also when I first started the nurse in intake would help with skin checks and even help with some initial nursing assessments etc which helps a lot when there is a lot of admits so the patients aren’t waiting down there as long .

I’ve shears no one actually does anything about these but Staffing. Staffing staffing. Your ratios are about money not safety or patient care. We are here to care for patients and cannot when you staff the units according to profit and.not safety or patient care. We cannot give the patients any attention we are too busy with daily tasks because we don’t have enough staff And the staff we do have arent that GreatPriscilla uses this job as a social hour and constantly leaves the unitEbu and Pedro take 40 min to fill drinks so the nurses have to do itStephie hugs the patientsTania in intake is so so rude, and degrading and thinks she’s better than everyone. I’m hesitant to say anything because I’m new and have seen the back lash. Maybe management isn’t informed. The lack of staff is worrisome. Some units have 30 pts with 4 staff some have 13 pts with 2. It complicates pt care and being able to address their needs in time. It’s a safety concern for staff and other patients. It’s nearly impossible to have 3 q5s and one nurse and teck. Even without that one staff doing everything the desk isn’t attended most of the time and it’s really hard for me to get my work done when my tech is off with the patients all day and I need to round when they’re gone. It’s not about me having to do rounds it’s about all the times they’re gone. I can’t effectively give meds. Do constant q5.stay behind the desk, do my notes and attend to put needs like that. You guys are making it nearly impossible to be a good nurse, instead all I say is im trying all day. We are supposed to be hear to help the patients but no one has time. We’re either giving meds, doing notes,an admit or doing constant q5/ rounds. The patients are frustrated. The staff are frustrated. And it’s not safe for anyone.The kids unit is rambunctious and sounds like a constant party. The constant noise is a lot and too much for some patients. . Not fair what you guys are doing to Anne. She was not the problem, the problem is she had it contained and others don’t like that, She’s not rude, she is however very blunt and people probably want a softer approach. It also took me some time to see that but I’ve worked both ado and adult with her. And understand now.Alexa i have heard you are a forward thinker. You have more competition now and those companies staff the units. The patients want to have staff that can take care of their needs. We feel,like they will go places they can get that. We feel like staff would also rather go places where there are more staff. It’s more opportunity to be a good nurse and less of a chance of getting hurt
