Better staffing and more incentives for mhts like bonuses. Mhts work load is huge and should be compensated better. The better the pay for the job increases morale and retention of employees. Higher wages impact the attitude of employees which in return effects the performance and quality of care helping the hospital keep good reputation. Also there should be more things that cater to our recovery as working 12 hours a day rounding and moving throughout the hospital put wear and tear on the body. There needs to be more resources in place to help balance the work load so that people avoid burnout and injury.

I have been working for almost a year in one of the most difficult and high-risk units. I have seen people who were hired after me being paid more than I am. Maybe they have more experience, and I can understand that. But at the same time, despite the experience that would theoretically place them above me, some of them are unable to work in this unit long-term and sometimes even refuse to work there altogether. A few weeks later, they are transferred to more average or less demanding units.Imagine for a moment that a patient who was discharged, and whom you once had to help de-escalate or place in seclusion, finds you outside the hospital and physically assaults you. The risk is real.I am not involved in salary decisions, but I sincerely believe that reviewing compensation for employees working in this kind of environment could reduce a lot of frustration. This job is mentally exhausting, emotionally demanding, and physically risky.

Staffing, security, need another staff for every shift. Designated belongings staff. Need more intake nurses.

Pay employees little more, because the work is dangerous and stressful. Mentally and emotionally exhausted. Some unit are more mentally drained staff.

TRAINING IN DEPARTMENTS THAT REQUIRE WRITING ON PATIENTS

Staffing

Workload and enough staff

Short of staff, reduced work load for 1 nurse that requires higher acuity

We need more staff (specifically staff that have initiative that work hard), better pay for MHTs, and clear communication when new positions and roles are available so staff can move up in their careers. For example, I have worked as an MHT here for just over 5 years now. I make $23 an hour. There are new employee MHTs making more than me. I think more even pay for positions would be more fair.

Pay raise and staff adequate care when hurt by patient
