The financial portion was messed up from last time, as our insurance was never billed. It was not taken care of until right before this cycle, which really added a lot of unnecessary stress from the finance department. It was also tough to get in touch with someone at the beginning of my cycle for next steps. Then it was very rushed when I finally did hear back from my patient navigator. Dr Wu is fantastic though and I feel very trusting in her care.

My team nurse was super helpful and responsive throughout the medication process. When she was off though, it was difficult to coordinate care with the covering nurses. The financial team also dropped the ball when I initially sent my new insurance coverage but they worked quickly once they caught it and got it set up just in time.

I completed one cycle of egg freezing when Spring first opened in Portland and this second cycle a few weeks ago. There were absolutely improvements over that time! The patient navigator was more clear, when I needed to call the on-call doctor I was able to get ahold of them, and generally, communication was better. There did continue to be some issues that didnt impact my outcomes in any way, but did add a little bit of frustration. I messaged my team about a vaccine I was scheduled to get and they said they would ask my physician and get back to me, but never did (I had to reach back out and cancel last minute). I messaged my team about running low on meds and they missed the message which resulted in it being too late to order meds and added another trip to Spring to pick up meds before the clinic closed. I had a reaction to lupron that I spoke to the on call physician about. The next day, I was still not feeling well and messaged my team. I didnt hear back to shared this w the nurse who called later to give me info on my retrieval the next day. She said she would call back with what meds I could take, but never did so I called right before the clinic closed for the day (and likely could have felt better earlier in the day if I had gotten a message back). Again, none of these are the end of the world! And well worth it to work with the Spring clinicians. As with my first cycle, Dr. Rubin was phenomenal. She knew every detail of my cycle and remembered everything about my first cycle, showed a lot of care for my overall experience, and truly went above and beyond to help me feel comfortable and informed throughout. One of the best physicians Ive worked with and wouldnt hesitate to strongly recommend her to everyone. I also had the pleasure of working with Dr. Krieg for a few of my visits and she was also wonderful. Empathetic, up to date on my cycle, and helped me feel very comfortable.

Dr Fisher is an amazing doctor, make you feel like heard and personally invested in the outcome of your care. Treatment feels individualized, he makes sure you feel informed and has excellent bedside manner. My initial consult with him is the reason I chose Spring for my fertility treatment and hes been excellent throughout the journey. Overall, everyone has been great, I appreciate the care Ive had so far at spring

The OHSU clinic provides a photo of your embryo on the day of your visit for you to take home. Dr. amato showed me a photo of mine on the screen, but it would be lovely to get a hard copy to share with my partner when he is not able to attend.

My doctor and nurse that I communicate regularly are both great.

Kristina, the nurse I messaged with primary, dropped the ball multiple times. Not updating my calendar. Not submitting my one prescription until one day before I needed it. And not responding to multiple messages in a row for days at a time. Luckily I have done the transfer process before and I know how to get things I need when I need them, but for a first time patient this kind of service is not helpful. It added extra anxiety to an already frought scenario. We pay a lot. The screaming cat that sounded like a baby in the background of calls is also not really ideal. Having to personally transport my own embryos from OHSU was also very odd and stressful. I did not change doctor's. This seems like there could be a better solution. In the initial email I received when the change was made public it said this would be taken care of at no cost to the patients. Taking time off from work plus having to hire a babysitter and all the legwork and notary forms etc is not no cost. My time is valuable. The inefficient handling of this process made my faith in spring low, from the get go, and then you learn it is more expensive than OHSU was just a few years ago. I was endured that the lab is of highest quality and during the transfer it did seem to surpass OHSU. I was also disappointed I only got to see Dr. Ruben for my intake appointment and did not even communicate with her once during the process, but dealt with Kristina who hardly inspired faith in high standards of care. All of the care team I dealt with in person were kind, efficient, and made me feel in good hands.
