It would be great to have more experienced and careful phlebotomists at the Redwood City location. I have had to visit other locations multiple times to get my blood drawn, where those phlebotomists at other locations were able to draw my blood generally on the 1st try. I also had one experience at the Redwood City location where the both the blood draw failed AND I had an injury as a result for over a month due to the phlebotomist self-admittedly sticking it in too deep.

The operating room staff are very strong clinically and everything by was seamless. However, having been a previous patient 4 years ago I cant help but notice how much the culture of the clinic has changed and I wonder if that has impacted the language and lack of sensitivity toward women. I am referring to an incident where the anesthesiologist and nurse that were in the operating room made light of needing so many egg retrievals because I have DOR. I remember uncomfortably laughing because it was funny however it was also incredibly insensitive to somehow suggest that any woman enjoys going through many many cycles and that I was somehow doing medical tourism or something by going to the San Francisco and Sunnyvale locations of the clinic. I cant help but think this is a result of the performative activism the clinic practices (I say this as a liberal) with removing the word women and dehumanizing us and what we are experiencing. Have we lost the plot this much that the anesthesiologist and the operating room nurse who could not stop laughing think any woman in this world would want to go through repeated cycles and countless medical appointments for fun and jokes and not because she has diminished ovarian reserve? I know that Dr. Tran is very blunt but in the extended time I have known him he has never and would never make light of a womens fertility treatments. He deserves a better team than this. The difficult part for me is that Jason or Jonathan the anesthesiologist) seems to be very good at his job. I actually complimented him on how I dont feel too groogy following his administration of anesthesia. So it saddens me to write this. Honestly, Im glad he said that to me ( someone who already has a child and wont find the outcome devastating if it doesnt work out) but I realize I am very fortunate and in the minority of women going through this so I hope this is never done to another woman again. Maybe Nurse Deanna and Dr. Tran could help the operating nurse and anesthesiologist have greater care and empathy toward their patients, because I have only ever felt welcome and outstanding patient care from them.

Would like to have direct contact with nurse or doctor early on regarding medication questions

The egg retrieval was done very professionally. I did miss some privacy though with only curtains in the waiting area and recovery room. I had a great result but I could overhear a neighbor receiving bad news.

Now that they have changed to the doctor of the week policy I would be a little less likely to recommend Spring. I would still recommend Dr. Tran and Dr. Minjarez, because they are kind and caring towards their patients.
