Cost was not laid out as clearly as it should have been. I discussed this with the financial team but I was caught by surprise with some of the charges. I also emailed about ordering additional supplies and was told I need to, but when examining my original order, it was clear I needed to only order a small amount, not what the care team suggested. I felt like if they had looked at my information more closely they would have made a different suggestion. I ended up with an entire unused box of Menopur which cost me $450 out of pocket.

We loved having a nonbinary patient navigator on our care team! Thank you for helping queer families feel seen.

The care team is typically communicative, empathetic, and warm. When I went in for my retrieval this was not the case. I was unclear of what the protocol would be that morning due to my case being atypical and the staff when I arrived was highly uncommunicative and ill equipped to deal with a unique case. When I finally got clarification after asking for the dr for over 45 min, the protocol made sense, but the experience of feeling unheard and ignored in such a vulnerable state was completely unnecessary and could have easily been avoided if someone had just explained what to expect. The experience continued to be tense and aside from the anesthesiologist and one of the care team members who I usually see at my ultrasounds, I didnt feel the usual warmth and compassion that I usually do at Spring until I was in the recovery area with the nursing staff who was wonderful and made me feel supported.

The financial navigator take long time to reach out. No one explained to us why we need to use embryo package instead of IVF package, when we want the answer, it took almost two weeks. My nurse is good, but on her day off, no one take over her case, I have to keep calling asked for help. After my retrieval, no one tell me what's the next step. When I called to ask, they booked a phone appointment which is one month away. I felt that Dr. Tran is over booked if he can't have a 10mins phone call conversation with his current patient.
