When food is served it is barely luke warm. The fact that the food is fanned out on the plate rather than stacked hastens the cooling process. If tray is brought to Peter's room, most of the time hot food is ice cold and never covered with a dome. He has a poor appetite. When the temperature is not right, it makes the food less palatable.
