After signing as the guarantor on my son's lease I downloaded the Student Lease Guaranty Application and Agreement and noticed a typo in my Gross Monthly Income. I called the Highlands directly and they had the proper Gross Monthly Income. I would like to fix this when there is a chance.

I wanted to reach out regarding the washing machine in our apartment (521) which has been out of service for approximately 2–3 weeks. During this time, my roommates and I have had to use laundromats and pay out of pocket to do our laundry, which has been both inconvenient and an unexpected expense. We understand that maintenance issues can happen, and we appreciate any efforts that have been made to resolve the problem. However, because the washing machine is an amenity included with our apartment and it has been unavailable for an extended period, we were wondering if there is any possibility of being reimbursed for our laundry expenses or receiving a rent credit for the inconvenienceWe would be happy to provide receipts from the laundromat if that would be helpful.Thank you for taking the time to consider our request. We appreciate your help and look forward to hearing from you.

Yesterday, I was notified that my apartment was not suitable to live in due to a maintenance issue. They did sprinkler inspections in April of this year (2026) and left a hole in my drywall after the inspection. I put in a maintenance request to get it fixed earlier this month (June) and the maintenance hit a pipe while they were working, getting water into my room, carpets, and belongings. I was not notified of these events until 3 hours later and until the leasing office was about to close. I did not get to try the key for the emergency housing unit after the leasing office was closed, but the key provided for the room did not work. The staff did not confirm that the keys to the temporary apartment provided worked. The Highlands website provides a phone number for an emergency maintenance line that did not contact an after hour maintenance worker. I called 5 times over the span of two hours, and when checking with the leasing office this afternoon they said none of the calls were logged, despite me leaving 5 messages. When asked about the issue with communication the emergency maintenance workers said “sometimes I don’t get the calls.” So it seems to me it’s a known issue that the maintenance after hours line provided on the website doesn’t work and needs to be fixed. Once I got into the unit at 9pm there were another person’s belongings left in the unit as well as mold found in the bathroom. I could not get in contact with anyone about this situation, leaving me on my own to find housing for the night. Today, I went to the leasing office about my concerns with the emergency maintenance and mold and got alarming responses. Monique (the property manager) assured me that she as well as other vendors were at the building until 7:30pm, so their ignorance of my situation is troubling, considering I physically went down to the leasing building twice and called the number 5 times before getting any sort of response. I was also assured the maintenance would "look at the mold" today, but cleaners might not be able to come until tomorrow. I'm now being informed that the cleaners are not able to come until tomorrow at 10am, which is leaving me to find housing again for the night, because it's still an unsuitable environment to inhabit. I would like to break my lease due to the negligence of giving me a clean habitable place to live for multiple nights; an uncertain timeline to move back in to my current residence; as well as the replacement residence being a unit that is less valuable than the one that I currently reside in, but the expectation of still paying the same amount in rent.

I don't have any information or understand what this form is for. We have submitted the apartment BEFORE we were even assigned an apartment. Then I received this dispute form. Dispute for what? Please explain.

Hello, I am trying to obtain a rental verification for a current residents of yours. Which email address should I submit this request to for property The Highlands in Reno, NV?

Hello Monica,We spoke to Monique White, The Highlands Manager, and she said we would not be charged a Re-Assignment Fee. Once removed please reissue a corrected Move-out Statement for our records. Thank you.

Rent was too expensive.

The dryer in my son’s apartment has been repaired 4 times and it still isn’t working. I would like someone to contact me regarding this, as I cannot get ahold of anyone at the complex.

The couch was damaged when I moved in. Me and my other roommate who moved in at the same time bought couch covers and placed it over the damaged sofa. We did not cause those damages

I had moved out of my apartment in early August due to starting work in California and was unable to return to Nevada to return my key until August 31st but I kept my key so that I could return to the apartment to make sure I didn’t leave anything behind. On this day the office of the highlands was closed and I was unable to return my key. My roommate returned my key on September 1st, just one day after the cut off and I am being charged $210 for the late key fee. I believe this charge should be dropped due to the office not being open on the 31st and leaving me unable to return my key.
