I was charged two cleaning fees (one for partial cleaning and one for carpet cleaning) for the Bedroom B in the unit that I was leasing, but when I reviewed the images of the areas of the bedroom serviced, I noticed that these services were not done on the bedspace that I had occupied during my lease.More specifically, my bedspace was the one closest to the large window at the far end of Bedroom B (a double-occupancy bedroom) in Unit 346. I had thoroughly vacuumed and cleaned out my side/bedspace of the room (bed, closet, desk, window, and area around it), vacated the unit, and turned in the apartment keys by August 13th. Afterwards, my then-roommate moved bedspaces to get the window view (so, she moved over into the bedspace that I had just vacated).I believe that the cleaning services were done on her original side of the bedroom (the bedspace closest to the bedroom door). When I was still in the unit and in the process of moving out, I obviously could not clean her original side of the bedroom since her stuff was still there and she was still occupying that bedspace at that time. She is still leasing the Bedroom B in this unit and can confirm this.I am wondering if there is a way to drop/reduce the cleaning fee charges since it appears that these cleaning services were not done on the bedspace that I had actually occupied?

I have reached out to the management team at The U three times now asking a simple question. I wish to know which address they are going to be mailing my deposit check to. I want to know this because my parents moved houses since the first time I moved to The U, And I’m not sure I updated the address on file. That is OK, because I still have access to my old address, so I would be able to retrieve the check. The only problem is, I have no idea which address they have on file for me, so I don’t know which house I should go to. When I initially moved out/asked them, management told me to just refer to my “move-out” packet, But I cannot find that anywhere. I have scoured all of my inboxes, and even my trash inbox in my mail. I can’t find this move out packet anywhere, so I asked them to send it to me again. I also asked them if they could just let me know the address they have on file. I have reached out three times now, and they have just been ignoring me. The management team also takes like two hour lunch breaks and never responds to emails. Their office always closes and hour to half an hour earlier than they say they close. Someone really needs to check on this, because while I understand most of them are students, so am I and I am PAYING the apartment for them to do their job! It is insanely frustrating that they literally cannot go check somebody’s address, which takes one minute. They also can’t respond to emails. They also aren’t open the hours they advertise. These people you’re paying take way longer lunch breaks without your knowledge. It at worst hurts and frustrates, and at best annoys your customers and people who live here.

I am disputing unfair move-out charges from The U Apartment after living there for three years. I was charged $160 for paint and $100 for carpet cleaning, even though the paint deterioration was normal wear and tear (confirmed by a maintenance staff previously) and the carpet stain was not caused by me. Instead of providing proof, the office repeatedly demanded that I “prove” I didn’t cause the issues, which is unreasonable and unfair. When I called to discuss this, the staff were extremely rude and unprofessional — they constantly interrupted me, spoke over me, raised their voices, and eventually hung up. This level of customer service is unacceptable and disrespectful to tenants.I am requesting that the unfair charges be removed, that I be provided the legally required breakdown of deductions (California Civil Code §1950.5), and that action be taken regarding the staff’s conduct.

I’ve been charged for unreasonable reason for moving out such as paint falling off and carpet stains, which are not done by me. I tried contacting the leasing office and the lady is really rude and hung up on me. I tried talking but she kept trying to talk over me, and when I tried to talk louder she just hung up and did not even listen to any of my explanation
