There have been multiple occasions where I have been unprofessionally mistreated by the dining staff. Usually this occurs whenever I go to grab food to eat. I will admit personally sometimes I go in I don't greet the staff and I grab my food and leave. But I do try throughout my time to greet the staff and on some occasions, I have had good social interactions with a lot of the dining staff. I understand it's important to greet dining staff. But sometimes my mind is focused on my academics, and I just want to grab my food and go immediately. And I understand that the dining staff are humans and I do make the effort. But there are times where the staff retaliate by physically trying to intimidate students. For example, on one occasion one the staff at the food station I usually go to grab my food Just stand their arm folded and give me an intimidating look. This has happened numerous times. I have also seen it happen to other students. It's come to the point that I will longer attend the dining facility, and I won't be residing here at the University Center anymore. This issue happens all the time and the dining staff target specific students each time.

Hello,I am Chloe Fenne and I submitted a report under false pretenses about a situation between James Brock and the University Center Management office. I used to side with James Brock against the management until I attended a meeting between him and Brooke Lopeman. In this meeting, information was revealed that I did not previously know, and I am now fully convinced that James is blowing everything out of proportion, and that everything ought to be completely resolved between him and management. Because of what I have recently learned I would like to completely retract the report I made as soon as possible, as I no longer agree with any negative thing I wrote about the management office. In fact, I have reached out to Brooke where I both apologized for the reports I made and congratulated them and the management office on their efforts. In the meeting they confidently explained how she and her team have gone above and beyond in their efforts to resolve the problem between James and Daniel. She was very graceful the entire time, which is very impressive given the context of the meeting. I deeply apologize for any harm or confusion my reports caused and I wish and expect for the University Center to continue their success. They have truly earned the awards featured at the front of the office.

The management office in this building has proved themselves to be not only incompetent but malicious as well. I do not trust them to take care of student safety. After a student was kicked out of the building after threatening to kill another student they were found sitting on the first floor. This individual was aggressive and many people in the building did not feel comfortable with him inside and were relieved to know that he had been removed. They had been served a restraining order, and were not allowed to be within the building. Yet a few days later they were found lounging on the bottom floor without security intervening. This has been confirmed by both a witness and security. This is a major example of incompetence on the part of the building management and should have never happened. Examples of malicious behavior include threatening my friend Mr.Brock, the person who got the restraining order against Daniel. They demanded that if he did not show up to a meeting without his counsel present, that he might lose his housing. They have threatened him with this twice now. The first time the meeting was able to be successfully cancelled due to outside assistance. But in retaliation they kicked out Jay apparently with no questions asked, and they barely had time to gather their belongings to leave the building. This management has repeatedly gone after my friends for reporting legitimate safety concerns. This is frankly unacceptable behavior and something no student should have to go through. College is meant to be enjoyed and I do not appreciate that our time is wasted battling with an incompetent and malicious management.

VERY URGENTPlease postpone a coerced meeting with management Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 3:30pm, due to safety concerns with management, and misrepresentations and false pretenses from them. They have been asked to postpone, with no retaliatory action towards me for postponing, and they are failing to do so. I do not feel safe having a meeting at this time with them due to their significantly harassing and retaliatory behavior, and they are failing to listen to this.I have an Order of Protection against a former resident who threatened my life. Upon being informed I had retained counsel and further communication needed to go through counsel, and upon service of the Order in my favor, management has attempted to coerce me into meetings with them without my counsel present, even though CPD has said they cannot do this. I do not feel safe attending these meetings without my counsel present. Management has not provided a reason as to why they have coerced me into meetings without my counsel present. The respondent in the Order of Protection case lied under oath, and there are concerns he has lied to the University and Management. The University and Management have misrepresented me based upon these lies, rather than speak to my counsel about their false nature. Please intervene to postpone a coerced meeting with Jennifer Davis in Resident Life on March 31, 3:30pm. Failure to postpone this meeting immediately may result in additional reporting. Management is claiming they are coercing me into a meeting due to a student conduct process against me by the University, however, the University's Office of General Counsel has said there is no student conduct process against me. They are harassing and retaliating against me and attempting to coerce me into meetings under false pretenses. In addition, I was informed the University asked them last week to take no action against me. However, subsequently, Jennifer Davis continued to threaten and coerce me into meetings. Jen has repeatedly failed to follow through on requested safety measures to protect me and my witnesses, and we are concerned she is attempting to forcibly gather evidence regarding her lack of follow through and allegations against her, rather than follow up with my counsel as directed and appropriate authorities. The report concerns harassing and retaliatory behavior from Jennifer Davis, Ro Jamsetjee, Shavonn Nowlin, Rae Guice-Lyles, Brooke Lopeman, and Officer Cunningham and his staff. I am deeply concerned about further retaliation from them for reporting, as they all already have done so. Management have also retaliated against my witnesses, including making misrepresentations to the RAs, who are engaging in gossip about them, including in front of them. The RAs engaging in this are people my witnesses and I do not know, and have not reported to. Management and Security staff have passed back and forth, and back and forth to various University offices, and then retaliated and harassed for doing what they have asked to do. Numerous safety measures to protect me and my witnesses have not been implemented by Management and Security staff, despite repeated requests, and being advised to make repeated requests. Safety measures include no-contact orders against the respondent's confidants, who failed to report threats against my life, a floor change for a student who retaliated against me for reporting, and the duration of the respondent's ban from the building. Management and Security staff are harassing and retaliating against me and my witnesses for even requesting such measures and misrepresenting us to others rather than implementing them. There are numerous Hate/Bias concerns in the building which have been reported by many individuals, and Management is blaming me for these reports, though I was not present, and I was directed by Ro Jamsetjee to send any other individuals who had Hate/Bias concerns to her to file independent reports. The harassment and retaliation has stymied additional reports by other individuals who are too scared at Management and Security's behavior to file reports. They are also concerned filing additional reports may result in additional harassment and retaliation towards me. My witnesses and I are being harassed and retaliated against for filing safety and Hate/Bias reports, and the status of the reports is as of yet unknown. I do not know if the Court Order is being implemented or not, and am being harassed and retaliated against, rather than having requested documentation provided to my counsel.Additionally, in retaliation for my reporting and for service of the Order of Protection on February 26, 2026, Rae Guice-Lyles cancelled a final job interview I had as an RA on February 27. She based this upon false pretenses and misrepresentations from the University. Please reschedule this interview immediately.

The University Center Management has failed on a numerous amount of occasions to provide residents with the proper procedures to secure a sense of safety, agency, as well as protection for many of the residents of the building who fall into the category of students who have voiced complaints, fears, and worries regarding their place and belonging in such as shared space. I myself am a student who dorms in the University center, who is currently enrolled in Columbia College Chicago which shares the majority of undergraduate students within the University Centers housing space. I have never felt more silenced, disregarded, or flat out ignored than I feel now as a current resident here. Me and my close peers who are all from different universities housed under the University Center and who all study under the different schools associated, have spent the last four months voicing our advocacy for a more respectful and more peaceful environment within the dorms, specifically as it pertains to religious bias that has sparked hatred and vile acts of discrimination upon those who identify with the queer community. Upon voicing my concerns with another one of my close peers about the contents of why hate speech should not be so freely allowed and tolerated within this shared space with Associate Director of Residence Life , Ro Jamsetjee , information regarding the contents of this meeting were said to be kept private. To my surprise about a day or two later since this meeting the employed RA's who already have limited ability or professional training to handle and manage situations that pertain to one's safety and sense of comfort, were gossiping about the contents of my Meeting with Miss Jamsetjee, while i was in earshot on the 2nd floor community area, which is very upsetting and concerning for myself considering the fact that the contents of this meeting regarding my personal worries as well as that as my friends was promised to be kept within the realms of those who were at the meeting, establishing the management office as incompetent when being able to assist residence with the proper level of agency and protection for the sake of all student and resident life. The University Center management office has also demonstrated unwanted acts of retaliation upon student residence Life as well as housing circumstances. Some examples of this involve two close peers of mine who are also student residents. One for some unknown reason, which has still not been communicated by the University Center management office, nor other staff, has been removed from their time as a resident and was only given fifteen minutes to gather their belongings and leave the building . On top of this being a very unrealistic expectation for any resident to be able to effectively move out of the University Center , it is my belief that it is quite possible that this obscure mistreatment of my friend is a form of retaliation from the dorms staff because they were also helping in efforts to advocate for a better life for queer individuals for the better of change and inclusion within the dorms. Additionally my other close peer has been threatened with emails and messages from the University center dorms in an attempt for Coercing him to meet regarding his specific situation, as well as holding over his head the threat of immediate removal from the residence If he is not to be present this upcoming Tuesday , March 31st at 3:30. The University also irresponsibly requested that my friend were to not have his counsel present to protect and secure his right to safety, which Cpd had mentioned would be an illegal action taken by the University Center and it's Management. Any efforts to urgently prevent their unfair actions toward any current or future residents would be highly encouraged.
