USC student affairs are involved with assisting with releasing my son from his lease that has not started yet, due to his medical disability..We have requested several times to speak to Tyler Kirshner and he refuses to have a verbal conversation. This has been a horrible experience, due to the lack of verbal communication with USC and myself as a parent. We were directed to send a medical verification form which we did, to release us from the lease scheduled to start August 1st. I have all of the email traffic and forms signed by USC medical and CHLA. Anyone above Tyler K., at University Gateway, please call me me, respectfully, we NEED your help. 310-704-7704

I am a resident at University Gateway and have already discussed this matter with property management. I renewed my lease for Fall 2026 at a rate of $1,190 after receiving renewal communications encouraging residents to secure their rate and space before the renewal deadline. Since renewing, my roommate and I have needed to pursue a lease takeover, but Gateway continues to market comparable inventory at essentially the same rate. As a result, prospective residents have little incentive to assume an existing lease rather than lease directly through the property. Property management has advised that lease takeover is the only available option. I am requesting a review of whether any alternative resolution or exception may be available given that the lease term has not yet commenced and the required takeover process has proven unsuccessful despite ongoing efforts.

My son is moving to University Gateway in August. We paid the deposit and have the lease. We have not yet signed the lease because we have a few quick questions to verify. We have tried to speak with a human, but end up in an endless loop with an AI chat bot. I am sure a human can address our simple questions easily, and would appreciate the reassurance of speaking with a representative. Thank you!

My son got the $150 refund check for the deposit late and cashed it after the expiration date. The bank denied it because it had passed the 90-day expiration. I applied to live at University Gateway in December 2025 but I ended up cancelling it. I received a check for the $150 fee but I haven’t been able to cash it since it was voided because it’s been longer than 90 days. Can the check be reissued?

I have been trying for over a week to facilitate a lease takeover through property management. It is stated within my lease agreement that I am allowed to do so and must first contact property management. It has been 5 business days now after trying to get in contact with property management simply to start first steps and they have failed to respond. Numerous times after calling the leasing office I was told I would get a response by the end of the day and have still not heard back. I am now at risk at losing the person I found to sublet. Moreover, I was told nearly 2 weeks ago that property management would be gone for a week and I couldn’t do anything to get the lease transfer moving, and despite property management now being back in office for apparently days they still have not responded to me. The failure of the property management to respond to me and agree to their end of the leasing agreement makes me believe that I should be able to terminate my lease now.

Hi!I hope you’re doing well. I’m reaching out regarding a sprinkler violation notice I recently received for my apartment. I spoke to the front desk here at University Gateway, and they gave me your contact information!After reviewing the photo provided in my violation notice, it appears the item in question was positioned underneath the sprinkler rather than hanging from it, so I do not understand being told I was tampering with it. Additionally, I removed the item immediately while maintenance was present, and I was told at the time that everything was okay and I would not be charged.Given this, I was surprised to see a $100 charge associated with the notice. I fully understand and respect the importance of fire safety policies, but I would appreciate it if this situation could be reviewed.Please let me know if any additional information would be helpful.
