Our experience with Visiting Angels, most of the time is wonderful. But Friday, April 26, 2024, I was caught off guard. My husband and I have respite care. Today after 6 months, we had a nurse come, her name first name is Stephanie. Originally we were told that she just needed to update the paperwork. She checked my husband's vitals. From then on she was pushing home health Care, to have a nurse come on a regular basis to check him. At this time in our journey, we don't need home health care, we will need it, but not right now. I take care of my husband myself. The young lady was pushing the home health care. I tried to take the time to explain to her why, but she kept interrupting me and she interrupted me so much, in my opinion that I stopped talking. I could not communicate to her because what I wanted to be said wasn't being heard and I was getting very frustrated with the situation. I did say that what I wanted to say wasn't coming out the way I wanted it to come out. I did not yell at her. I had to tell her at least three times that our insurance was not United healthcare but Blue Cross Blue shield. But we weren't using Blue Cross Blue shield. When she became aware that the VA was involved, she still continued to push Home Health Care on us. As she was leaving I walked her to the door, then she asked me if I wanted her to contact the VA for me and I told her no. I had already answered that question several times already. I felt that she was trying to get me to commit to Home Health Care. She asked me several times repeatedly. She also told me that she had a home health care business, she also said that the paperwork would not affect the respite care. I feel that she was so interested in getting us to commit to the home health care that she did not take the time to truly listen to me. How can a person really help if they don't take the time to listen and then flustered the Customer so much, that the customer becomes upset and decides they don't want it, no matter what. If the salesperson cannot take the time to listen to the needs of the customer, then that person can be of no service to the customer..... At this point in this journey with my husband. We do not need home health care at this point. We will but that is sometime down the road. And we definitely won't need to have someone push on us.

Selecting someone as a caregiver can be a long and frustrating experience. I was in need of someone who could ensure the care, safety and overall well-being for a loved one. A family member recommended VISITING ANGELS, not only for a loved one but for me as well, which would allow me some "down-time." I called and met with the local VISITING ANGELS Director to address my concerns. We established a plan that would address my loved one's need in my absence. Not only did the VISITING ANGELS gain my trust and confidence, but they also exceeded my expectations! Their care and services are accomplished with consideration, dignity and the respect for those concerned. The local staff are supportive, caring and always willing to go that "extra-mile" to ensure good customer care and services is provided. I've been with VISITING ANGELS for some time now and feel that having them involved in my life has been a blessing.
