Gabby has been a godsend for mom. We sure enjoy her, and she is such a good companion and caregiver for mom.

October 2023 My parents live in Salt Lake City, Utah, about 2,000 miles from me. When my mother first told me she needed help taking care my father who at the time was suffering from advanced Alzheimer's with dementia, red flags immediately went up in my head. Unfortunately, negative newsworthy events such as petty theft, elder abuse and or elder manipulation are far too common. I knew she needed help as dad’s care was 24/7/365 and he absolutely couldn’t be left alone. The disease progressed to the point she could no longer take him with her to run the most minor essential errands. Essentially, he had become a 190 lbs unpredictable two year old without any ability to be rational or reason. It was bad. When I raised security concerns over some unknown person(s) entering the home, she told me a friend of hers had once worked for Visiting Angels. Mom is tough, drill sergeant tough when she needs to be. I asked her to grill her friend on everything she knew about Visiting Angels prior to making any commitments. Their conversation must of gone well, as mom scheduled an initial interview with a representative at their home. Visiting Angels representative Elizabeth Garfield was extremely accommodating even when my sister joined the meeting in person and I via phone call. At this point, I was 100% impressed by the professionalism of the representative. The two way interview meeting went off well. A few days later, mom committed to receiving help on a limited basis in their home. Visiting representatives provide intelligent conversation with mom. They took dad for short walks, made him lunch and even did some light cleaning. Having a VA in their home allowed mom to go grocery shopping, attend doctors appointments, have the car serviced and perform other tasks. Two or three times a week, I would hear from my very critical thinking mother about how great the person had been. Eventually, my skeptical wall was lowered. Having Visiting Angels was truly a God send for my mother and our family. The representatives proved to be trustworthy, friendly, professional and caring. They were exceptionally helpful at a critical time in all our lives. I cannot say enough good about the staff. The organization is aptly named; Visiting Angels. If you think you might have the need, I encourage you to at the very least explore the options available to you as we could not have been more pleased with the experience. Mark S., ~ Florida
