Visiting Angels is truly a service that lives up to its name. We had heard of the name before but didn't know anything about them until we pursued their home health care services for our mother. From the very first interaction with the Visiting Angels representatives, Alice (and Sara) showed their knowledge, friendliness, care, and pro-active nature. Because of a complicated situation, we called Visiting Angels and gave them little notice. They went about scheduling, keeping us "in-the-loop", and had somebody there in 24 hours. Now, we did not "expect" this rapid response, and I think the official policy might be a few days notice (ideally, more)... which is much better than most home care services... but the quick response was very much appreciated. Setting up the home care service (we needed 24/7 service) was painless. They are well-organized, understanding, and made it as easy on the family as possible. Now, about the care: While the siblings visiting our mom did not have the opportunity to meet ALL the Visiting Angels staff, of those that we have met (or have spoken with on the phone), we were VERY impressed. I would describe each of them as: caring, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I have never seen a group of people who communicate and interact so well with our mom - simply amazing. They also interact well with all different types of personalities (Mom, kids, etc.). Each of the staff members we have spoken with is very knowledgeable regarding care and keeps meticulous logs. When our mom wants someone to chat with or needs help with anything (meals, dressing, etc.), they are there for her, and when she wants some alone time, the staff member sits quietly in the background either updating logs, doing light tasks (cleaning, food prep, etc.) around the home, etc. But they are always within earshot and had eyes upon our mom in case she would get up on her walker, etc. Janice is the caregiver we met and have spoken with most frequently, and she is simply amazing at her job -- very proactive, organized, caring, friendly, and she interacts so well with our mom. By not mentioning others we have met and interacted with (or simply didn't have an opportunity to meet), it is not meant to a slight, as there were many others that work with our mom who should be commended as well... we just have a poor memory for names. Of course, we would never trust just our own limited exposure to staff members, so we asked our mom her thoughts about the Visiting Angels in a private setting, and without prompting, she echoed all the positive comments already mentioned above. She just loves the staff members. If you're looking for excellent home health care for your loved one, please do give Visiting Angels a try.

Where do I start? I have been asked to write this letter on behalf of our entire family. In May we decided that a nursing home was not going to be a good fit for our Mother, Mother in law, Aunt, Nana and many other titles she went by. We reached out to Visiting Angels in hopes that we could do "better" for Bernie Bracey. Our hope was that we could find one of your employees that could "engage" with Bernie and make her feel safe and comfortable in our home. What we found was Norma Boone. From the first minute we met her we knew that she was the ONE. Little did we know that the ONE is an incredible understatement. Norma was not only caring, but she treated Bernie like she was her own Mother. I truly think that she connected with Bernie and our entire family (which is quite large) on a level we could never have expected. She laughed with us and she cried with us. She was truly a member of our family. I say all this because it's true. But you need to understand that this all happened instantly. And unfortunately it did not last as long as we had hoped. You see Bernie took a turn after just a few short weeks and passed away. Norma was there for us when hospice came in. She stayed with us as we needed to turn her every couple hours. (Without her we didn't even know we needed to do that) she comforted us with her knowledge of what we should expect and she did it with compassion so as not to alarm us of what was to come. She even came to the viewing to pay her respects in the end. That's not just an employee, that is someone who is the very bane of who you are as a company. She represents your company better than you probably could ever imagine. We could not have gotten through this ordeal without her. I hope that somehow you can recognize her for her work. She is not just another one of you employees. In fact she is exactly why your company is named Visiting Angels. Norma Boone is truly our "Angel". We will never forget her. Al Lucas Son in Law 570-614-9119 P.S. please let me know who else I can send a recognition letter to. I want to be sure Norma is recognized by your corporate level staff.

Was thrilled with professionalism, compassion, and thoroughness. I was leery of having aides in with my husband but Brandy answered all my concerns.
