Has been a season of complete uproar and urgency. Hard to think quickly when crisis knocks. Ramona our caregiver manager/coordinator has brought wisdom and peace amid the storm to provide us with the perfect matches in caregivers for my dad. Kevin has become a strong support He and my dad have become true friends. Kevin is very in tune with my dad, he's very perceptive and seems always to know what to say and to do for encouraging my dad. Kevin also has wonderful sense of humor and is a wonderful conversationalist, offers my dad who is a thinker some stimulation conversation, very important for keeping spirits high and affording my dad respect and dignity while at the same time giving exceptional care. With the sudden decline in my father's health we recently had to hire night time care to Dad's regime, and Ramona brought us another perfect match in Lindsie our 🆕 nighttime and weekend Angel. Lindsie immediately won the hearts of both Mom and Dad. It isn't easy for my mom to relinquish any part of my father's care. Taking care of Dad is what Mom does best but in the last year she has suffered her own health issues and has had to concede to her new limitations, she has really struggled with the idea of having a stranger come in for helping with Dad's intimate care. But Lindsie came with her delightful bubbly personality and compassionate heart which has disarmed mom and caused her to relax and even enjoy having the help. Lindsie is very teachable, great at listening and asking questions for helping her to administer custom care that truly fits her patients individual personal needs. She is smart, quick witted professional and conscienceous, she knows her stuff and if she doesn't have the answers she knows where to go to get them. She has a real gift for putting people at ease. We feel very blessed to have Visiting Angel's in our court as we are facing this difficult time of transition. Knowing my parents are in good hands gives me such relief. I used Visiting Angels for several years in Edmonds WA. to help with the care of a dear friend who was herself a medical doctor. The experience was so good that they were the first ones I thought of to call for getting help for my father who lives in Yakima. I have also recommended Visiting Angels to my friends who are dealing with the needs of ailing spouses and aging parents, each one has experienced the same excellence from Visiting Angels for their in-home care needs. We began using Visiting Angels in Yakima this last summer. It has been almost 4 months now. I have appreciated VAs flexibility for being able to adjust and accommodate us in an instant, as my father's needs continue to change. Ramona has been our manager contact and she is wonderful! A great listener, with a lot of wisdom which has helped me to make good decisions for helping me to help my parents. Ramona assigned Kevin to my Dad, which has turned out to be the perfect match! Dad and Kevin hit it off right from the start. Kevin has been so good to notice my dad's ques and has been sensitive and creative about accomplishing what is truly important for my dad's care, well-being and comfort. He has also won my mother's heart as well. It wasn't easy for mom to surrender dad over to someone else's care or to invite a stranger into their home, but Kevin has made it so comfortable for Mom. Mom has noticed Kevins special way with Dad, how attentive he is while giving Dad the space to do what he can for himself, treating Dad with kindness and respect, while affording Dad his dignity as my dad is working through these sudden transitions and every day's new challenges. Short of a miracle, we can expect that my father's needs will continue to change and that those changes will likely require greater assistance so it is a wonderful blessing to be able to have confidence that affords us peace of mind because we can trust that Visiting Angels will get us through it because Kevin and Remona will come along side of us as we are working to be better at helping my dad. Unexpectedly, we required a caregiver for my Dad. Visiting Angels immediately set us up with the perfect companion for him. She is kind, trustworthy, thoughtful, and works hard. This has allowed my Mom respite time away from caring for Dad. We are truly grateful for the service they provide.
