My Mom recently used Visiting Angels services while recovering from a knee injury. Here are a some highlights of what we - and Mom - found to be a key component of Mom's safety and recovery: 1. When we were scrambling to secure in-home assistance upon Mom's release from the hospital rehab unit (having no experience with these services at all), Jodi made an appointment with us on fairly short notice. She was so helpful, encouraging, and eager to coordinate coverage to provide 24/7 assistance. Jodi and her team went more than 'the extra mile' to quickly put care in place, and it was such a relief to our family. 2. We especially appreciated the guaranteed shift coverage Visiting Angels provides, as we understand that no other in-home care providers provide such a guarantee and staffing shortages are very common. With both my brother and I living hours away from our Mom, it would have been very difficult for us to come up with an alternate plan without the dependability of coverage Visiting Angels provides. 3. The staff members themselves were wonderful. They assisted with general safety, mobility, meals, hygiene care, and other helpful tasks. They provided full transparency into Mom's progress as she regained her mobility, and Jodi and her team very kindly worked with us as we sought to right-size the assistance to Mom's needs as her mobility and capabilities improved. The social aspect of having the companionship of the care providers was also an important part of Mom's recovery. 4. While Mom is doing well now on her own, having "graduated" from Orthopedic care, knee brace, and all, we consider Visiting Angels to be an important part of our "team" and will not hesitate to call on them again if the need arises. Thank you so much!
