Overall my experience was positive - until the final negotiation around price. I always knew the specification of the vehicle I was looking for, so service and price were the main areas of my focus. Towards the end, it was a straightforward matter of the best price I was offered. I asked Wearside Audi for their best possible price and that price fell short of what I had already been offered elsewhere. However when I made it clear I was going to buy the vehicle from another dealer, I was asked what price and package I had been offered, so that Wearside Audi could match or beat that deal, obviously meaning that the previous “final offer” from Wearside Audi was not really their best offer available. I would prefer to have bought my car from my local dealer, but the fact that their best offer was left too late, meant that it was not to be.
